I ain't no seamstress, I guess . . ;-) Said another way, I'm not crazy about the organization on this site despite the wealth of info here. Anyhow, the photo of the hib on the table I just sent . . most of those are current seedlings awaiting sale or disposal or something. We generally study the performance of new seedlings for two years before selling rights to it or entering it a hibiscus show to try and qualify it for hibiscus of the year. Believe it or not, making fine flowers is easy, with my forty years of experience. The hard part is pasting that fine bloom on a healthy, vigorous, attractive plant that clones easily and blooms in all seasons, including hot summers. Certainly one should never name a newly created seedling for someone dear UNTIL it has been tested over time. A few on that table have been released and if you ask about a certain one I'll tell you what I can. Didja know that if I distribute pics of a new one with its name . . on the Net . . it can make it impossible to patent that one? Crazy, but true. This flower IS released and Matt will be selling it. Named for my dear friend and Chiropractor and neighbor . . peace, Barry |
