Hope you visited the links above before reading this: Can anyone match such learning enthusiasm? This is for those who say "I'm getting old :( " What's age? It is just the years counted on the calendar and it is those years that are called "age" to our physical body. Hope I am clear in what I am trying to say. I hope this will inspire many of us and let's start now to "feel young".

Here is an e-mail picture a cousin sent me today. Hope the article beneath the picture is legible.

Your right i want to start feeling young to!!!

Here is the article, a little larger. DG automatically resizes images larger than 999 pixels wide to a smaller size. I resized this one so the longest edge was 900 pixels wide. Let's see if it worked.

That did the trick!

Yes indeed, GW. And thanks for the hint as well!

What a wonderful person she must be! Such a vibrant personality at that advanced age is remarkable and must be admired by all. I hope to read more about her exploits for years to come as she looks to be healthy and happy.

I also had read that longevity will be in the genes too. Ageless wonder!

Dinu, That was in 1998. Is she still alive? Do you know?
What an amazing lady.

Dinu's away at cricket tournaments right now, but will be back in a few days, I think.

The article listed first, at http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1423687.cms was written in February 2006. I'm not sure about anything more current about her in the media.

It says 1998 in the caption.

I'm talking about the article I linked to, not the scanned article. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm back just today. Have lots of mails to catch up and pix to upload!

1998 probably did not have a black mouse which you notice in her hand. It must be a recent picture and news - 2006.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Hmmm, I got my first computer in 1998....and I was behind the times.

It would have to be 1998. It said that she was born in 1892 and that she is 106 years old. :)

How I've ignored the obvious. LOL It's weird that the local news venues there reported it just in 2006 and quoted her age as 106. They were quoting old sources, I guess?

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Mmmm. I missed the simple calculation too. Quoting old sources is a possibility.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I tried googling to see if there was any newer info on her but didn't find anything.

(Zone 7a)

How wonderful! I think the best stuff gets done as you get older.

Comparison with Wine holds apt.

You are correct. Salut!!!

Age is a number - not a difinition:):)

Great story!!

Yes, a purely statistical number to be precise.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)
