D-mail attachments?

From time to time I send an article to another DG member but it appears I can only attach photos to a D-mail.
Is this correct ? Is there a way to make a document attachment other than copying the whole article into the D-mail.
Until now I usually ask them to send me their email and send it that way .

Due to viruses, we've always had a policy of only allowing images. If we start allowing other kinds of files, I won't be able to guarantee that we are virus free...
