Small Colleges and Universities near you?

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

My daughter is at a public middle school here where they wear uniforms. I like this a lot and it is easy for her to get dressed and look neat. They wear navy, white or maroon shirts (I only allow her to wear collared shirts) and khaki, navy or denim skirts, long shorts or pants (I only allow her to wear denim twice a week).

On Fridays they can wear college sports t-shirts or sweatshirts (they call that spirit day) and we are deep in the heart of USC, UCLA land and I would really like to get some shirts or sweatshirts that reflect the real American universities. (the affordable ones who don't have TV contracts, for one)

If you have a small college or university near you that you are proud of, could you post it here and if possible a link to where you can buy their sports wear?

For example, Ponditis told me about Treasure Valley Community College in Oregon who has an excellent rodeo team (a sport near my daughter's heart). I don't mind the sport though and neither will she.

Thanks, ya'll!!

OSU (Oregon State University) The mens baseball team won the National Championship for the second year in a row. :o) Here is a link to their site, but I can't find anywhere on it that you can buy shirts. They sell them all over town though. I could pick one up for you and mail if you would like. JLMK

Angelsong- thanks! I have heard of both of those schools and congrats for your accomplishments! I will be seeking out shirts from both schools.

Our daughter and son-in-law graduated from Spring Arbor University (SAU) in Spring Arbor, Michigan, which was founded in 1873. Spring Arbor University was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as an institution that helps students graduate with the least amount of debt, which ranks the University No. 3—up a spot from last year—in the Midwestern Universities-Master's category of colleges and universities.

We LOVE SAU! Here's the link for SAU: http://www.arbor.edu/

Glenda- I like the look of that school! I bet that you are proud! Great education and no debt- so rare these days. I am going to keep that one on my long term radar for our college.

MGH- Thanks!

Anyone else?

Glad to help! :)

A great local school here is St. Bonaventure University. It's actually in NY and I'm in PA. I was disappointed to see they don't have a lot to offer on their website as far as sports T's since the Bonnies (the girl's teams) are known far and wide. You may find something your DD is interested in though...and it does say that you can call to see what else is in stock (I wonder how many folks actually do that?).

What a cool thing you're doing for your DD! How fun for both her and you :-)

Ok, I have to list another school that's in our area...the name of the town is Slippery Rock...so you guessed it, it's Slippery Rock University. Just thought your DD might like the name of that school, lol. They also have a better selection than SBU above.
