Be still my little heart Tiger!! I believe the first one is an Orange Crowned Warbler. I can't wait to see the ones that visit here in winter..:-)

DAILY PICS-VOL. 20
I don't have any new pics, but wanted to say that these are the most wonderful bird pictures I have ever seen. How nice to see birds that you see and ones that you have never seen.
Thanks to all of you for sharing.
cpartschick.. Have to say small flycatchers, warblers, and kinglet are some of the sweetest little birds imo. Many of them spend most of the year (9.5-10 mos.) up north catching flies and breeding. We get several here for about 2 months in winter. Been thinking about their return to the privet tree this year. It will be so cool to see them find their way back here to this exact place on the map. The winters here are pretty cold, it even snows some...however it is much milder than WA or MI. Most days around 40*, maybe just a few below 30*. Last year we had snow on the ground for about a week, and they loved it.
It amazes me how tuff these little guys are.
Yes, some birds are really tough.
The little chickadees stay here all winter. How can they not freeze when it is -10' windy. The other birds are hiding under cover and fluffing their feathers to keep warm.
I have seen robins stay here all winter too. They change to eating some berries and birdseed. Everytime I see one in Jan, I remark that maybe they made a mistake in staying here.
Our winter here can be pretty tough, cold and lots of snow.
debnes, I concur! Thanks!
Warbler's have always been high on my list of favorite birds, but since moving here 9 years ago, all I'd seen was a pr. of Black-throated Gray's. That was one of the sightings that convinced me to always carry the camera outside unless it's pouring.
We had Myrtle and Townsend at the coast, and I've missed seeing them.
Debnes: Love your hummy pics.
Tigerlily: Great group of shots today. That first one is one I'd lhave had to look up on my "Confusing Fall Warblers" page in my Fielding's Guide. That page always make me laugh because for me there's never been a warbler that wasn't "confusing". (Except for maybe the Yellow-rumped that we see alot.)
I don't think I've ever seen a Kinglet or FC. They are so adorable.
Another small bird that amazes me are the juncos. How they can hang out in the snow without freezing is beyone me. :)
Deb
Been still playing with the spotting scope with camera held to it.
Getting a little better, but still a long way to go.
Blue was the target of my practice.
Its funny, because this was the best of the group and this one was taken from inside the house through the dirty window. Go figure.
Leaving for vacation tonight. Boy am I going to have a lot of catching up to do when I get back.
Maybe I will see some birds in the Smokies.
Have a great time cpart!!!!
I believe the first one is an Orange Crowned Warbler
Yep, I'd agree

Nice pic Debin!
LOL, very nice pic Debin!
All such nice pics! :)
Nice pics indiana!
Chubby!
LOL, good one!
Sandhill Cranes
Technically, no - in theory, they could be almost any species of crane, but a presumed Alaskan location would imply Sandhill Crane (or have you been sneaking off on an unannounced Asian holiday? ;-)
Resin
Very pretty Debin!
I love the cranes
lol, thought I had a new bird at the feeder, it was a female cardinal minus some head feathers
Great pics pelletory! I especially enjoyed the bathtime one! My finches dont gather much on the bath. Just every now and then I get one or two on the birdbath. :)
No images today, (camera & pc are not getting along) but I've added another warbler to my life list today! I was talking w/ mom on the phone and standing at the kitchen window. Mom's the one taught me to love birds, you understand. I recognized immediately a new bird, bright lemon yellow all over except for the black cap. Mom said Wilson's as soon as I mentioned the cap. I came in to look it up, and books say Wilson's has pale olive upper body, but I don't know what else it could have been. It flew right up to the feeder at the window, and I must say the goldfinches might have been a bit more congenial. Sure hope he comes back! I'm gonna start now at every flash of yellow, LOL
Lovin' all the photos folks! Thanks to all of you for sharing!
Congratulations on your new Lifer tiger!
What a treat it was to get up yesterday morning to find one or two hummers still with me - later by a week than any previous year. I was motivated enough to get up from my breakfast table and spend a good part of the morning chasing them.
So, that's the reason I've chosen to bore you with (would you believe?) 5 pics. This is only because I had to work so hard to get them I wanted something to show for all that effort.
