North Texas Round-Up Food.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Ok just remember you said that there for all to see and I did say WE so it means not just me if it happens and of course they do go home with you..lol

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Their grandparents spoil them constantly.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

I am so lost. Can we start this over with someone editing the top thread, with lines for what's being brought and who is bringing what? You can even add a line for stuff that needs to be brought with a question mark next to it. Josephine, if you've got too much going on, I am willing to help out.

Are we bringing our own paper stuffs or not. I have to agree with someone who said that gets pricey for people who don't have it laying around.

We did hot dogs in at the Texoma round-up back in '05. Everyone volunteered for something and it worked great.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Stacey this is what we have agreed on doing; I will start a tread a little closer to the event, since we still have over a month to go.

O.K. guys this is what I have found out.

8.32 for 8 packs of hot dog buns 64 buns
8.32 for 8 packs of hamburger buns 64 buns
15.92 for 4 tubs of potato salad at 4 pounds each serves 64
24.96 for 2 boxes of frozen hamburger patties serves 64
16.96 3 packs of 24 hot dogs each 62 servings.
-------------
Total 74.48

If you guys are willing to pay $7.00 per member, not persons, instead of the original $5.00 this will cover the rental and this items I mentioned. If you agree I can purchase these things and bring them, so Richard can get the cooking done without a hustle.
I believe Richard is bringing the charcoal.

Then you guys can bring your own drinks, condiments, chips and sweets.
I plan to bring Ice, cups plates napkins and plasticware for everyone, and my own drinks as well. No alcohol is allowed.

Please let me know if you approve of this plan, I think it is the sensible thing to do.
Josephine.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

I agree with the plan!!
I am bringing banana pudding and a sugar free dessert.
Charlene

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Great idea Charlene.
Josephine.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds great! I will still bring a couple of fruit trays and a chocolate dessert.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I agree and will be bringing something just have to decide what yet.

Phyllis

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

So if we agree on all inclusive, we should probably include for the hot dogs onions, mustard, ketsup. For the hamburgers the onions, lettuce, cheese, mayo, mustard, ketsup, cheese? I just can't imagine someone bringing their own for just one burger and/or hotdog. We'd have 40 condiment jars out when it's time to eat. :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila had agreed to bring condiments but two or three other people could bring sliced cheese, remember we are talking about 64 slices or more so it could get pricey for just one person.
Josephine.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Josephine just let me know what to bring and I will be there ready to go.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. Mitch will do.
Josephine.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I am getting hungry..Richard, can I come for one of your practice, grilling sessions?
I will bring some cheese sliced for whatever...a couple of bags of chips,,,and a Dessert...let me think about that one...my guest, is also a member, so is it $7 for her too?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, those are the rules, however if we have extra money we will refund the extra divided between all the members.
Josephine.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

No problem, I just wondered. I already told her...

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I'd like to bring vegetables and dip.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine,
I'll bring $7 and charcoal/cooking utensils. Do you have some help to carry all that?

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, I was not really awake at 4:40am. I'm currently across the Atlantic visiting my grandma and parents. Grandma lives in Yorkshire,, England (six hours ahead time difference). Her roses and apple trees have done great this year. Best year for apples she can remember.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, my husband will be there too, but we shall see, I am sure Mitch will be there early as well.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Oh Collin I am jealous you are in England ....we have to meet If I knew you better and such I would have asked you to do some looking around I mothers side of the family came from England and I have been slowly and I mean slowly working on getting facts on the family tree of names I have.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

The swap starts at 12 noon Sunday October 28th.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

frostweed, i don't know if anyone else is confused but could we have a new food thread? listing the menu and who for sure is bringing whatever and who we will owe money to. and short, simple and sweet telling each of us what we are to bring. if i am the only one that is confused never mind. i will go back and read through.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. guys here is the link to the new thread;
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/774113/
