Must listen to radio now, sorry.

Oh sure just tune us off like that :(
Are you listening to the Dr Ruth show again? LOL

Pirl, Dr. Ruth, eh? She has some good pointers! Ah, ha ha ha! Did you know I listen to Snodsmith at anytime, streaming from my 'puter?
Glad to hear you're using the shovel. I meant to get it sharpened. It'll be better after that!
AUP prevents me from saying much but it wasn't Dr. Ruth. I remember her from years ago!
I love Ralph. How could I not when he selected me as the winner of the Bayer Rose Contest a few years ago! Don't ever look at my roses!
Harper - you must be strong because that shovel is heavy. I'm building muscles!
You are great with roses, I'm not surprised Ralph selected you as the winner!! Nice going! What's AUP? Are you part of a secret society? You think my shovel is heavy? Yay! Maybe I'm stronger than I think.
You're stronger than you appear. AUP is at the bottom of every DG page - Acceptable Use Policy requests we do not speak of politics.
Or other touchy subjects either. I did say that Snodsmith lives a stone's throw from me. I saw him in Costco's one day. If I see him I'll mention your name Pirl!
Oh! Well, so much for my secret society idea... you're taking the fun out of my day!
Oh, I'm sorry Harper. Yes, I belong to a secret society - promise not to tell! It's "The Rose Bulb Fanciers" and the president of it is Dawn.
Thanks, Victor. Ralph won't know pirl but he'll known my name. I really respect the man so much.
Has anyone had any problems with these horrid, ugly bugs decimating the oriental lilies? The foilage was nearly chewed to the stem though the lilies bloomed. I did spray them, it helped somewhat but now I am wondering if I should purchase new ones, do not seem to be able to make up my mind
The lily forum should be able to help you, Maria. I know I've seen mention of that problem but since I don't have it (yet) I'm not following it. Just try going to the Lilies forum and do a search. Good luck!
Thanks pirl. Hope you will never have it, it is just awful
Moby is VERY knowledgeable about it.
What do the bugs look like?
Maria, is this what you have? They are awful. http://www.biopix.dk/Species.asp?Language=en-us&Searchtext=Lilioceris%20lilii&Category=lnsekter I start picking off the red devils in the spring. The babies covered in poop are even more disgusting than their parents. They have declined in numbers every year since I have been getting after them.
Thanks for the photo, ngam. Happily, I don't have them.
They are nasty things and can kill all your lilies off very quickly. Here is some more info. http://www.flower-garden-bulbs.com/redlilybeetle.html
Thanks ngam, that is exactly what had should have again if I plant new ones
When are we vacationing at Pirl's??
What caused that, Dave? Just because I don't have those little red lily bugs?
trying to start a rumor.
(Actually thought Victor Harper & Dawn mentioned coming-above)
Sure!!!! How's the end of next June or early July to mid-July?
Yes, Victor, we will be home. Don't want you thinking we'd be away on vacation. I'll even do the cooking.
I am The President woohoooo....I won't tell anyone about the secret club then pirl LOL Shhhhh.
I hope you are a good cook pirl!!! How about some lobster and crab???
How about lobster rolls?
Victor wouldn't like them so I'll make him some PB & J (with garlic).
Hold the J! I like PB and Cream Cheese.
With or without the garlic?
I like PB & J! No garlic, though...
Garlic with garlic is always good.
As an appetizer I like cream cheese mixed with garlic (minced very fine) and slathered on salami, then rolled up. Yummy!
You would certainly need clorets or a tic tac after that LOL
Actually if everyone (without exception) has it then there is no need for tic tacs.
Ain't no vampires 'round me.
No bats, either
Hmmm - the garlic!!
No wonder you have no bats Vic!
It also explains why I keep getting so many Italians in the yard.
He he he
I didn't know Jimmy Hoffa was Italian.
Hello!
You guys crack me up!
This is the best place to be when I have my morning coffee.
