Hola!~
I need to know the colloquial difference between these two words:
harapos and andrajos
They both mean "rags", but I wondered if anybody could be more specific for me. Also if they are male or female.
Thanks,
Suzy
Spanish help
Hello Suzy,
Likely I won't be of too much help, but I'll try. :-)
It is my understanding that harapos are rags, and adrajos
are tattered rags. Not sure that makes sense, but I gather
it means a rag (harapos) or a tattered, raggedy rag (adrajos).
With regard to male or female, I have always been of the
thought that if it ends in Os, it is male, and if it ends in As it is
a female.
Example:
Senorita = female
Senorito / Senor = male
:-)
So you would have, a male rag? LOL A tattered one at that.
