Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - the Prequel
Somehow I handed out a class schedule from 2005 last night to my class instead of the one for this semester. The bad part is that the file with the current schedule got overwritten by the ancient one. I have to start from scratch!
Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark.
You've been on this thread too much.
what do you get if you cross a giraffe with a megaphone?
A tall order?
no.... a very tall speaker!!!
You heard that from your nephew, didn't you?
no... I read that in Brazil when I was a kid... I love silly jokes...
I read the Pixie-rules - the C-belt etc., - to my alien-17 year old hybrid, and she (the one who was sneaking home drunk summer of 2006) said "I'm good, I like to watch old-fashioned movies"!!! I wish it weren't too late to use those rules... Be careful Victor, the GIRLS start to flirt and ask boys out at 13, whether or not they're ready for it. Or the girls' parents are ready for it.
xx, C
I love how you are 'numbering these threads! Very apropos!!
We need a raindance, anyone have any connections?
We may be getting a tropical storm by the weekend! Gabrielle.
Quite overcast here but the NYC station I listen to says it's beautiful and sunny there now.
Furniture we put out for my daughter's outdoor B-Day party August 24th is still out there... anyone think we should bring it in? Anyone think it's already been worth the $20? But then we'll have to pay more $$$$ to "throw" it away...

My little girl turns 15 this weekend! She is still very sweet, but with mood swings that remind me of the movie alien.
AGUA! PLEASE AGUA!
Happy Birthday to your daughter, Dave.
Mood swings just come with the territory.
Congratulations, Dave.
Happy B-Day to your daughter Dave, and good luck to you. Deep breaths, lots of deep breaths. :)
Dave, she may be recovered in two years. My (now) 17 year old exhibits signs of normalcy. Sometimes.
xxx, Carrie
Hahahaha . . . . every year I warn my male students about 14-15 year old daughters. All the female students smile. All the male students look puzzled :-)
Oh, your daughter will probably be wonderful about 17 and a half :-)
My almost-15-in-November dd was born a "teen with pms". But I can see signs of her returning to normalcy in the next few years (I hope!).
How have the first days of school been for everyone with kids? Smooth transition in my house but, of course, we home school.
15?? I'm sure she doesn't consider herself your little girl anymore :(
(except when she will really need to your little girl) but why the cry for water or a volcano?? Something went over my head, nothing unusual in that. Happy birthday for your DD!!
Happy Birthday Davette! Dave, good luck. As a counselor, you're probably better prepared than most parents.
She really is quite wonderful. It is so clearly the hormones. She usually apologizes after a wicked mood and she still likes to do things with her parents even though she has a good group of friends. I'm very fortunate. Its just that every so often this scary alien pops out of her got.
. I've had much tougher teens. I could tell stories.
No rain for me today-- BUMMER!
No rain and no aliens........yet.
Still no rain but lots of clouds. :(
On a brighter note...FOOTBALL!!! :)
However...too many regular starters not playing. :(
Still it is time for Football and the yelling at the tv and jumping up and down, what fun! Good luck to all teams except when they play the Pats. :)
Who's on first?
A Yankee Cat: I'm sure I've done the same thing with handing-out the wrong syllabus many times. But who can remember? (wink). Oops, sorry, this is making too much connective sense... Ahem, who was Hiawatha's main squeeze?
Minne - ha - ha
Ya, Minnehaha it was, Victor! And she did so much rambling that she's got a famous rambler rose named after her :) :)
Aha!!
Aha-ha!
There's a whole community out here called "Laughing Water" and Minnehaha Road is there!
ngam - no rain? We finally got a little over 1/2" last night - what a relief! And, yea, Patriots! Sorry, New Yorkers, no offense!
Yeah - no offense - that was the Jets' problem!
I watch football. Pretty much that and golf for sports. 1-0 for that team in the western NE ;)
Packer fan??
Yes. Also Badgers and loving the demise of Michigan football.
Oh everyone seems to be getting some rain all around darn it. Medway is not very far from here. Its still so dry here even the dust is getting thirsty. Hoping for a better outcome in the rain dept. tomorrow. The Pats did good didn't they, sorry Victor. Jets had some good series, no running game was their problem I think. Never got it going so cuts down on what they could run for plays. Kickoff return for TD kinda sealed the deal I think. Next week Chargers.
