I need to add a "head". My DH is hoping he can come. He's on the worship team at church and will have to find someone to replace him, so he can't say for positive yet. But that's the plan.
North Texas Roun-up Headcount, part 2
Christi!!! finally we will meet! :) Josephine, what I was saying is to round up your dollars to the next zero so you wont be out of any money. I thought we were paying for the park and the food ... 7.00 is too sweet a deal. :)But i am quite sure you know what you are doing.
Patti! I can wait to meet you in person too! ... a person who has been to my house and met the neighbors, worked in my yard, ... and I have not met her yet! LOL
I'm gettin' all excited.
Yeah -- LouC is fixin' to join us at the RoundUp!! :-)
Carla
Thanks so much, guys. I didn't know you cared.
LouC
awww Lou ... please! is that a joke? :)
What about me? I do for the photos...
See all there! Also I did met Dave at West Coast in May...
That will be twice!
Hello Rusty, and welcome to the group, I will add your name to the list.
Josephine.
Josephine, did you add my hubby?
I just did, thank you for reminding me of it.
Josephine.
Thanks! :)
I thought of this over the weekend. I know some people were talking about having something for the kids to do at the roundup. I was thinking perhaps if we brought some pumpkins the kids could do pumpkin carving or decorating, since it is so close to Halloween. What does everyone think?
Kim
Kim, that would be fun for the children. I think it is a great idea.
Charlene
I think it is a great idea, but I guess someone need to take charge of it.
I would have no problem bringing some pumpkins if someone else would bring supplies for decorating. Do we have any idea how many kids will be attending?
Not yet, in a few days I will make a recap and ask about that.
Sounds good Josephine!
mm I used to have the lil knifes you got in the kits for carving not sure if they made the move or not will have to look ..other wise paints work would be less cahnce of someone getting a cut if they are younger kids
One of my new magazines shows using only black marks alot...,no cutting.
A Family Fun Magazine from last month has the cutest ideas for decorating gourds pumpkins and squash. I scanned the page to post it. It would be a great thing to do with the kids without knives. I won't have time to help in that area, but maybe the older kids would be interested in helping the young ones?
Neat idea Sheila, I think knives might be something to avoid.
Just a note to you guys who aren't watching the Texas Gardening forum and are coming. Make sure and give you final confirmation to Josephine in the thread in this link. >>> http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/781812/
Can I come? What do I need to do? I was just told about this. :)
This is the thread from last year's RU. Please see the new thread for this year: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/889502/ . And please come! It will be lots of fun.
:) Kim
If everyone will bring supplies for the gourd project for the kids. My daughter Shelly loves working with kiddos.
She does not like plants. Even though she hates the plants she is coming so she can help me tote my plants from the truck to the tables and my trades from the tables to the truck. (How Sweet!!)
She said she would be bored to tears inbetween the toting of my plants. So, bring all the supplies needed and you have a great baby sitter available for the kids.
Bring gourds, small ones and medium please. Bring shirts that your children can wear over their clothes to hopefully keep the paint off of them. We have some paints, but we will need some additional black and white paints as those will get the most use. We have paint brushes, so don't bring those as they might all get mixed up.
If you have additional things you wish to add to the gourds in the way of decorations, bring those along and Shelly will try to fit them in. Bring any pictures you have of decorated gourds, so the children can pick which ones they wish to do.
