falling on the keyboard I am so sleepy...........good night!!!!!!!!!!
"Receiving is just about as good as giving"
Nite Gail!! Get some good rest! :o)
Rain, I don't know about the Silicone. Your husband would probably know. I got what I did because it said glass sealer 'adhesive'. Dries clear or should I say somewhat clear. Not too noticeable though. Good enough.
Your candleholders sound nice and are perfect for your application. Must be pretty and practical.
Ok you all, this is it.. I can't stand all the pictures... I know a few of you but not all.. Hello My name is Susan and I am addicted to plants....
Lin has sent me TONS OF PLANTS that I can't even begin to tell you how many... I love you Lin....LOLOLOL Also Cedernest (Mary) we have swaped also.....
Now to the truth.. I can't keep a AV alive.. I kill them always... I have Basil Philo and can spare a few cuttings if ya want them... Also Gail I have a begonia I will take pictures of tomorrow as it is diffrent then the ones here.. It sits under the J. Maple all summer all three pots of it...LOL It is blooming now with very nice pink flowers.. Also can send this if anyone wants...
Ok have to email a friend... Night all and feels like home here...LOL I love Dave's Garden.
Susan
Oh Snow ... I love your pedestal! Did I give you a cutting of that plant? Girl, you've done good with it. I know Philo's are easy, but that one looks really Great! I have lots of the P. Brasil, it's one of my favorites! (Just like every other plant in my household.) LOL.
I too like displaying my plants at different heights! I will have to steal your idea and make a few pedestals too! I think I've got a few vases around and hubby has clear sealant that he uses for stuff .... oh, this is gonna be fun. Now I will be on the look out at thrift stores and the dollar stores for vases and plates. I love cake plates as pedestals for plants too! Hey ... maybe if I turn cake plates into plant pedestals I won't have anything to put cake on and then I won't bake anymore, therefore I wouldn't eat cake anymore? Naaaah!
Hiya Susan! Welcome to the AV forum! Don't be a stranger, come over and visit us here anytime! Talk about giving someone a lot of plants .... you've given me 8 or 9 Plumeria's! Which I love by the way! Only one has bloomed so far but I know eventually, maybe next summer the others will bloom and oh, I can't wait for that fragrance!
Susan, you need to try another AV ... you know the old saying, if at first you don't succeed!! I will send you a couple to try if you want ... nothing ventured, nothing gained! C'mon ... you have a kitchen windowsill? Or undercabinet lighting maybe on the countertop in the kitchen? Sometimes a plant will thrive on neglect. AV's aren't always difficult. Think about it, okay?
Well ... I'm off to lurk a few more minutes and then off to bed!
Sleep well my friends!
Hi Susan51. I don't know if you have ever posted on this forum or not. If not, welcome. If you have, then sorry I've missed your posts.
Lin is a sweet and generous trader as we all know. Cedarnest, too. In fact, I know everyone here is. I have many nice plants, leaves, seeds, and cuttings that have been received in trades and treasure them all.
Lin,
What you don't understand it is more then a few... I have killed my far share..LOL the last one for August swap... They are already dead and it is only 9/1/07 see they hate me...LOL
I am so glad your plumerias are doing so well .. This year and it is really my full year of growing them I think I have had 9 to bloom this year.. Now next year will be the bomb...
Shoot you say lights???? Last winter I had helicoptors(sp) hover over my house and I swear I thought I would get a knock at my door at any time... I had so many light going in the kitchen/dinning area of my house I think/though that I was growing some else...LOLOLOL No knock ever came thank god... :-)
If you send me any AV Lin you better send directions and I mean from taking out of box to putting in soil... The ones Gail had are very pretty.. Oh shoot they are all beautiful... My Mom use to like them and I killed hers also.. :-(
Hugs,
Susan
Snow,
So have I.. I think the two people that you posted about have supplied me with half of my house plants...LOL I love them for it... I never ever thought I would find a place like this.. Everyone is so given...
Hey I have one plumeria that is coming as a replacement for another that was rotten... If anyone wants it just say so... I just planted one I tryed to pass off on Lin...LOL This is not rooted so you will have to do that but hey as Lin said "nothing ventured, nothing gained! :-) I should get it this Tuesday so would send on Friday or Sat...
Hugs,
Susan
susan, we are so happy you are posting on the AV forum......................
Susan just sent me some cuttings and they are great...............a real white syngonium or Arrowhead plant...........a real beauty.........
Now I need to find the time to reciprocate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope someone takes Susan51 up on that Plumeria cutting. I had never tried them before this summer and she sent me 8 of them .... they rooted really quickly and all got leaves, one bloomed and the fragrance was heavenly! I can't wait for next year for them to hopefully all bloom. It's exciting wondering what color's they will be also! The one that bloomed this year was a burgundy color ... hopefully I will have every color of the rainbow next summer!
Anyway, I would have taken this last cutting Susan is giving away, but I am just soooo limited on space anymore! I am really, really hoping we don't have any cold weather this winter .... well, I mean freezing temp's! I don't know where in the world I will put everything!
Thanks Ladies for the welcom...LOL I just sent out 2 BE for seeds and then two packages... One has a bird house in it for Kim. Lin knows her... I was suppose to send with the plant swap for Aug. and I forgot... My mind was else where at the time.. HEY better late then never..LOLOL. Then shipped some to Gail... I sent her some of your Red Dragon LIn.. I hope you dont mind? You sent so much to me I wanted to pass it on :-) That is one of my favorite plants.. Someone in a swap sent me two stems of it.. Then when I saw Lin had it I just asked and it is beautiful now... I love it...
Nancy YOU WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... How are your plumerias doing?
If somone wants the plumeria cutting you have until the next weekend as it is not here yet and should be here by Tuesday.
