Another Blog question

Can the entries be listed in the order of first date to last? They go from last date to first now. A lot of people are showing projects and it's sort of awkward scrolling down to the beginning then back up.

In your own diary, you can choose whether the entries in each tab are displayed oldest to newest or newest to oldest, but you can't change how other people's diaries are viewed.

When you're in your diary, go to the tab that you want to set the order for, then click on the link that says "edit tab", that's where you'll find the option to change the order of the entries.

If you're looking for a particular member's blog, the easiest way to get to it is go to their member page, there'll be a link to it there.

How about this Blog question?

Is there any way to be able to put the tabs in alphabetical order? I have tabs for each of my plants, and it would make it easier, for me anyway, to be able to have them in alphabetical order, not in the order that I created the tabs.

I know that we can move the tabs from bottom to top, but I don't want to do that.

You can put the tabs in whatever order you want. When you're in your blog, go to "change tab order" and you can move each one of them up or down until you have them in the order you want.

ok, I can do that, but have not been able to rearrange the order of my diary entries- the days are right, but entries w/in the same day are random. Any clue how to sort that out?

Within a tab all you can do is newest to oldest or oldest to newest. If you have entries that you put in on the same day, I would think that the entries within that day are there in the order you made the entries, or maybe in reverse order depending on whether you have that tab set to display newest to oldest or oldest to newest. If you want a different order besides one of those, the only way I can think to do it is change the dates on the entries to make them in the order you want.

Yeah, you would think they'd be in a specific order based on entry, but mine aren't. Changing the dates is an idea though. Thanks!! ☺

Whenever I've made entries on the same date, they've showed up in the order I put them in, I have no idea why yours would is different.

I'd actually never tried moving things--you're right that the arrows don't work quite the way it would seem like they should. I played around with it and it doesn't always move things to the top or bottom, sometimes it would move something up a couple spots, sometimes it would move it up one like it should, and sometimes it would move it all the way to the top. If you just want things alphabetized you can still do it, just plan carefully what order you move things in. If you take the first alphabetical thing, move it to the bottom, then take the next thing, move it to the bottom, etc then everything will end up in the right order.

Oh yeah, ecrane3. That's exactly what I am doing!! It's tedious, but it will help me find stuff quicker later on. I just have to make sure that I have all the tabs there that I want.

The order on the entries can be changed but can I change the order of the diaries? Last year I started doing one a week. This year I did just one for the year and would like to move it to the top of the diaries list...

That's exactly what Candyce and I were talking about in the last couple of posts--if you go to your diary you'll see a place that says "change tab order", that'll let you move the various tabs (diaries) around. It doesn't seem to work exactly right, but the way it seems to work most of the time is that if you click the "up" arrow next to the tab that you want to move, it sends it to the top of the list and it sounds like that's what you want to do.

It took me literally hours to try and get my tabs into alphabetical order yesterday. Either I am way too organized, or I have too many plants. (laughing - it must be that I am way too organized, 'cause one can never have enough plants, now, can one?)

Of course you can't have too many plants! But I would argue that you can't be too organized either! :-)

My kids call me 'anal' because I like to know where everything is and the quickest way to get it if I should need it. That goes for spreadsheets, as well as closets and cupboards!

Just now getting around to using the diary / blog feature. I am having the same problem that others are. I have a couple tabs, but the problem is within one tab that I am uploading RU pictures by order that I want them to show up. One will go at the bottom and then the next two or three from the top entry. Is there some way we could get the ability to sort entries by older, recent, but also "subject" or "time"?
