Thought I meant plants huh. NOPE plans

Dave is there a chance (I know we have lots of 'em already) we could have a forum for Plans? I think it would be great to be able to post free plans. I am always on the lookout or searching for plans for one thing or another.

No, I mean a forum just for plans. No digging through 300 posts of advice about greenhouses. I could go there and look up greenhouse plans, birdfeeder plans, bathouse, etc...

Most plans are copywrited so doubt if a person would be able to post the plans. I think you can only post the web-site that the plans are on but not totally sure about this.Dave, this is in your ballpark now.

I'm wondering the same thing, CoCo. If there were in existence all kinds of free plans, I'd be all for the idea of a "Building Plans" forum.

However, I have the same reservations as CoCo. Where will the plans come from that will populate that forum?

I will post some links to them and you can look see if we would be doing soemthing wrong. Also I have several plans that were free sent to me by various CO-OP extension offices that are for public use, not profit.

Weebus, if it didn't infringe on any copywrites/patents I don't think it would be a problem. It may also be okay if you posted something from the web as long as you posted credit to the person who created it. Some of the laws concerning the internet are quite sketchy right now and we don't want you to get in any trouble for trying to do us a good deed. It was so kind of you to suggest this thread.

It's an interesting idea. If we have a Project Plans forum, the format can be like this:

Each post will be one plan. The replies will be questions and comments regarding that plan. Does this sound like what you have in mind?

We will have to be extra careful to only post plans that are freely distributable, with no copyright problems! I don't want to cause any trouble with other people's work.

What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea to me. I agree aboutthe copyrights but I think if we all work together to make sure we are doing it right, it will be OK...
