This bloom is from a 'different' vine than other Plum Frost photos posted.
This vine just started blooming and wow is it ever FROSTED.

Morning Glories 2007 # 19
Emma:Gorgeous!plum color.
Emma:Did you grow a mg awhile back called velvet plum?do you have a picture of that one?
Very!pretty!
The white edges looks great!with the velvet plum.
Huge bloom.Nice dark color.
Ronnie:I like those sunsmiles too.Very!pretty! growing in hanging baskets.
Oooo... that is a gorgeous one... will you every release your beautiful creations to the general public, because I'd be first in line to purchase a pack of seeds :)
Brittany
Emma, love the Plum Frost with all that frosting and that gorgeous Blue Frost.
Velvet Plum is impressive too. Can't imagine an 8 inch bloom.
Ronnie, pretty blooms. My no umi changed colors late this afternoon to a color
very similiar to yours.
Emma - The almost solid bloom that you asked about in the post here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=3864640
is produced by the flaked gene combinations can potentially come out of any of the flaked strains...it can appear almost white or as a light blue with or without the gene fpr spotting >which causes the color to appear somewhere along the primary folds...
The bloom(s) here looks to one one of the "Haru"...either Akatsuki or Hama no Haru...

Interesting color here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3871163
Although it looks to be a regular spotted like the "Milky Way" shown in the PlantFiles here
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/40313/
the presentation of the starring is noticeably different and I've only seen the pattern that you've shown here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3871163
result from a progressive dilution of the Joyce Cobb' types...
A dilute out of the flaked strains for comparison

Beth - Joyce Cobb was the grandmother of the person who applied that name to the flower...
Arlan - Really nice double speckled...

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3870697
looks like a speckled 'botan'...

Such, beautiful flowers
Luvs, Where can I get some seeds for those gorgeous chocolates, I really love those chocolate,
Well I have a few pics, I had to climb up into the raised bed to get these and without a ladder they are still a little far for a good closeup. This group are all growing in my window boxes. Here is the best closeup
Ron . . .
Thanks for the great information!
HollyAnnS
Great MG

Emma
HollyAnnS If I have enough seeds I will trade you for this lovely one here!! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3873767
Questions, Are both of these blooms comming from the same plant? What is the difference between the two?
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3873767
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3873910
HollyAnnS - The 2 blooms you posted might be coming from the same plant but they also might be on separate plants...the blizzard gene can produce both of the bloom types you are showing...
You might be able to trace the vines downwards or from the ground up if you don't have too many planted very close together...
TTY,...
Ron
Thanks Ron, I don't think that would be possible, with these plants. They are part of my window box and besides needing a ladder and getting up into the raised bed below I'm not sure I could follow them and I don't remember how many I planted in that box.
Chantell - Interesting find here

I'd like to view any other photos you may have but so far it looks to me like you located some
Ipomoea sagittata aka Salt Marsh Morning Glory...

Emma
Holly, beautiful flowers. That 1st one is really special.
Emma, amazing Plum Frost cross. Plum Frost is a beauty so any offspring
will be gorgeous too. Plum Frost is one of the prettiest glory's I've ever seen.
Chantell, great find.
Jackie
Plum frost is very pretty. Here is one I`m working on that showed up looking different this morning. It has the folds trying to turn to leaf like structures going into points. It looks sort of like a fountain and it is odd the way it is shaped. I have never seen stripes like this. It looks like a morning glory from Mars.
