The time is wrong on my Member Page. How do I change it

My time is still wrong and I clicked on Eastern Standard Time. It is now 1:04 AM in Louisville and it is saying my time is 12:04 AM.

Yes I meant to say I clicked on Eastern Daylight and it is still saying my time is 6:58 am right now and it is 7:58 am right now. I keep trying to change it on the Preference format and it just keeps coming up one hour earlier than it is.

Are you absolutely positive you have daylight time checked and not standard? And did you click the button at the bottom of the page to submit your changes after you set it? Periodically lots of people post here having that problem, and every time it's been they had standard time instead of daylight time checked off.

I just tried changing my time zone to eastern daylight to see if there was something wrong with that particular time zone, and it shows up correctly being 3 hrs ahead of what time it really is here.

Thanks---It finally worked and now the time is posted correctly.

About time, I find it very confusing not that my EST is wrong but it seems post from some one who lives in CA shows 3 hours later then my time, how can that be? Should it not be the opposite? What is even more puzzling, posts from a state from the east coast are either an hour off though they tell me their time is correct on the computer
Wish some one would explain these discrepencies about time and never used to be like that.

The reason East coast stuff seems off by an hour is because you put yourself on Eastern Standard time when it's actually Eastern Daylight time, if you go back in and change to Eastern Daylight time then everything should be fine. Once you've made the update, go back to the home page and look at what time it says it is in the upper right corner and it should be the correct time.

I'm not sure where you're seeing post times that are 3 hours ahead of you? Post times are always converted to your timezone, so if it says that someone from CA posted something at 8AM, the post was made at 8AM in your time zone. When they view that same post, it'll tell them they made the post at 5 AM since that's what time it was in their zone.

thank you Ecrane but I am NOT in EST time I am in Eastern Day light time have been there since it started this spring will be on EST when it gets changes later, so you see why I am mixed up? The regualr email I receive from anyone always coincides with mine but not DG forums nor threads

I know you're on Eastern Daylight time in reality, but you said EST in your previous message so I thought you had your DG settings set as EST. I checked just now, and you do have your time zone on here set wrong (you set your time zone here separately from your computer, your regular email goes off your computer time but DG goes off of what you tell it here.). When I go to your member page, it tells me that you are 4 hours ahead of me and you should only be 3 hrs ahead, so go into your preferences here and change yourself to Eastern Daylight time and things should be fixed.
