Quotes, italics, bold, URL's etc.

Dave, I am having trouble finding where the 'How to' section is, although I already know how to do most of the italics, bold, quotes, etc, a lot of people don't and are often having to ask. If I'm having trouble finding a place where it tells how to, I think others will too as I could find it easily before. Or has it gone AWOL?

This leads me to ask another question, is it possible to add clickable links to add these automatically? Another site I visit does it, but to see them you would need to be signed up as they are at the bottom of a posting box for a thread.

AND, oh how I love this one, they have a world globe spinning at the bottom of the Home page, with figures below it whizzing past as to how many people from each country visit the site! If you want the site link let me know, I don't want to post it here unless it's OK with you, but it is a very specific forum.

Look in the blue bar in this area (beneath the main tabs) to see the FAQ that pertains to forums and includes the how-tos for formatting and quote boxes ;o)

Now I see it! Thanks Terry, but you get my point, the FAQ link isn't available on the Home page, so one naturally looks under the main headings to find it. Then one gives up!

I did look at the blue bar on MY Info page as well, but this doesn't immediately jump out at you and that, for a newcomer or even someone who hasn't explored the site extensively, can be off-putting.

I agree, that FAQ should be more visible on the home page for easy reference to new ones and seasoned DG members alike.

The FAQ link changes depending on where on the site you are...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Wasn't there a different FAQ on the homepage before the changes though? Seems like that is the one that had the chatroom info on it.....I looked for it today and couldn't find it.

Edited to clarify......I looked for the FAQ not the chatroom. ;o)
