grandmother's brag site

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I know you will probably think this just doesn't belong on DG but we keep getting off subject here and there, can you believe such, and thought that maybe a site where we don't feel guilty about bragging on our children and grandchildren might be ok........ok? Latest is in the Topical Gardening area.

Lou, we do need a place to brag about them... Don't have any gc's yet. I like to oh and ah about everyone else's. Is there a place on the Home Talk page?

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Didn't think to look. I usually just wander around the gardening departments.

Me too, but I got really bored at work one day... there's a lot of helpful interesting stuff over there.

Christi- Hah! I can't believe you were serious about asking for this! Ha Ha!! As far as I'm concerned, anyone can do all the braggin they want on any of my threads! The more, the merrier!

You are right, Shari. One of those impulse things. That describes me to a T. IMPULSIVE. hahaha.....thought I would outgrow that some day but naaahhh......ingrained in the bone.

There are the General discussion & parking lot forums, either of those would be totally fine places for posts like that. Depending on what you're talking about with regard to the grandkids, there are other forums where it could be appropriate too. And many times threads will veer off onto more personal less plant related things, so it would be OK there too as long as you're not changing the subject and hijacking someone else's thread where they were trying to talk about something else.

Ecrane, Thanks for keeping me on track. Someone else suggested this on a thread that did exactly what you describe.......as I am sure you are aware.......went OT and to grandchildren......we all enjoyed it very much and laughed about our inability to stay on the subject. Don't need any more forums to clutter up the original intent. Sure Dave never envisioned where DG is now. I am addicted.

We have a "Pets" forum, why not have a "Our Kids" forum. I don't have grandkids but I do have other kiddos in my family that bring joy to my life. "Family Matters" might be a good place to park it. IMHO

(Zone 1)

A "Family" forum would be Perfect! Hubby and I are celebrating our 38 year anniversary today .... never Blessed with children so we won't have any grand kids to brag about, but I LOVE reading and hearing about other people's grandchildren!

After reading back through the posts here. I was a bit hasty in my affirmation on the kids forum. I do agree it would get pretty watered down with all types of discussions. I think I will look at putting a few pictures on my diary in the future and link to it when I am on a thread and want to brag!

I could also keep them updated with new pictures there!
