This one has been full of blooms lately. Looks kind of like Sophie but seriously doubt it.

Gorgeous Begonia's Butch.

BEEA UUUU TIIIII FULLLLL! That white looks a bit like my 'Buttered Popcorn'. I'll try to get a shot of it. Thanks for sharing.
Here is B. 'Silvermist x Orangeaid', a hybrid seedling that was given to me by Paul Tsamtsis. I believe it's his hybrid, but I don't know for sure.
It has some of the largest blooms on any of my canes and is very robust.
Butch, I've let my Begonia's go again. Once I get morning glory fever,
everything else suffers. I have finally started repotting a few of the canes.
Nice Begonia candela.
Lali, that Last Tango flower is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.
Here's Irene Nuss begging for a bigger pot. She's loaded with blooms.
Her leaves are fading out because she needs fresh potting mix.
Candela, my buddy is Max. I hate when he does his business on my plants or chases squirrels (or deer) through my pots but I guess he is a keeper. I see Luna resting poolside (how does she do among your plants?).
Laurie, love that 'Last Tango'. It looks exotic. I can see some 'Silvermist' in that hybrid.
Jackie, you're like me - neglect once summer gets here. I am starting to pot up a lot of my begonias and trying to move them to more sun before summer is over. My 'Irene Nuss' has not started to bloom yet but it is usually a very prolific bloomer. I want 'Sylvan's Triumph' but haven't found any yet. Same for 'Flamingo Queen'.
Is it just me or do you have problems shooting white? I had to take this one at dusk with a tripod. It is a close up of the white blooming cane.
Butch, I will send you a Sylvan Triumph. Give me til Sept when it starts cooling off.
Oct might be even better. I have 2 not so large and some still in rooting cups.
Will see which size is the best for shipping. If I can, will send you two.
I always have trouble photo'ing white. Yours at dusk looks great. I always regretted not purchasing Cosie, a white blooming cane
from Logees.
I love Flamingo queen too. I ordered a rooted one from Kaye yrs ago
but it was so puny, I lost it.
Jackie
Thanks Susan, I do recall seeing Flamingo Queen on Bonnie's list.
I loved her prices. I'll take a look at E-Bay too.
Jackie
Just make sure you know what you are getting on eBay. A lot of sellers are mislabeling their plants. One has been trying to sell a more common cane as 'Flamingo Queen' recently for example. Despite wrong names, if you like what you see in the picture, then buy it. I have bought many begonias off eBay with most of them being good deals with the exception of two sellers.
ok....spill the secret, hcmcdole, the two sellers? :)
I'll say that there is one that has lots of begonias on there at very low prices and I steer clear of that one...my only hint and advice....although this was a couple of years ago when I last got some from him/her. The person has a perfect rating I believe.
Another thing is that sometimes you receive a tiny tip cutting rooted and I would like to at least be able to see more of a plant that I just bought. :-)
Susan
Susan,
I bought a 'Rajah' from one (of the two I avoid now) last year. I waited for at least 8 weeks (I didn't notice that he did mention that shipping would be later but even he ran over at least 2 to 4 weeks - can't remember). Then I get a tip barely rooted (actually fell out of the soil when I unpacked it) for a ridiculous price (Buy Now). I complained but he basically ignored me so I gave him a negative rating. Most get a refund and then give a positive rating - not too helpful for the next sucker. Anyway I see he is still selling.
The other one may have been my fault but it was kind of small to begin with and the shipping seems higher than most.
Overall I've had fairly good results with eBay sellers.
There is another selling on eBay (today) advertising 'Flamingo Queen' but it doesn't look anything like FQ.
I may settle for White Fang from Logees. Although I find their prices just outrageous.
Pure and simple greed. Kartuz is more reasonable but only by a small margin.
His Brad Thompson hybrids almost 10.00 each if I recall correctly.
I repotted 16 plants yesterday, half of them small Begonia's. If I could repot 5 every day, I would be caught up by Sept.
Jackie
Looking at the database it looks like there are 2 entries for 'Flamingo' - one is a semp, the other a cane both with a date of 1981 (is this registered date or hybridized date?) and are from CA. 'Flamingo Queen' is from Australia and has a date of 1999 (fairly new).
The few pictures of FQ has some of the largest polka dots I've seen. There are other great polka dot canes such as maculata but it seems a bit fussy. Maybe FQ is an easier begonia to grow?
It still looks like a nice begonia but just mis-labeled (probably).
Have you got 'My Special Angel'? It has great dots and the coolest leaf shape. The blooms aren't bad either. The only downside (if you call it a negative) is it doesn't get very large. Mine hasn't bloomed this year (yet) but the leaves are getting very nice now. I moved most of my canes to where they get full sun up to about 2 PM.
I can't stand not to participate in this (LOL).............when the grands go home I will have to get my camera out!!
I love cane begonias soooooooo much.
Jackie,
I just read your comments about Logee's and Kartuz. Both are a bit high but if you can't find it anywhere else, then buy it from them. They both have delivered nice plants in a very timely manner earlier this year for me. In the past it may have taken weeks but this last time was a week or less. I was very impressed.
How many begonias do you have that would take until September to pot up? Let's see, 5 a day for the month of August would be over 150. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you.
I've been potting up lots of little ones lately. So far I've done around 80. Now that I'm done with most of the rhizos and small canes, I will start on rexes in two weeks (be in AZ next week).
This year I'm using Nature's Helper only. Not only is it cheaper than a good potting mix, but it seems very porous and no mixing. It may come back to haunt me once it starts breaking down. I also have a huge tub (those plastic tall tubs with the rope handles) that I fill with water or fertilizer water and dunk the whole plant, pot and all for exceptionally dry pots.
I'm moving most (eventually will do all) plants to more sun. We only have 3 months (or less) to get the most growth out of houseplants before the great migration.
Richmondensis has such cheery (cherry) blossoms.

Butch, My 150 or so still to be re-potted are not all Begonia's. I grow a few other things too. Yes the rope handled tub comes in handy for dunking the whole plant.
If I could get them all re-potted, wouldn't have to dunk. LOL
I love your richmondensis. I had forgotten how pretty the blooms are on that
one. Ginny's blooms are also very showy Your Silver Mist looks great.
Butch, is Cracked Ice one that looks like My Special angel?
I need to google Natures Helper. Farmers Market is out of my Fertilome,
trying not to panic here.
Susan, I'm with you. I love the large canes, THE BIGGER, THE BETTER. lol
I lost my White Ice which came from Greg Sytch in my box of cuttings. If I had just
not tried to tent that one. It's lvs were thick and had a lovely pattern running thru.
I want to order cuttings from Greg again in the fall. I loved all the ones he sent me.
Jackie
I take my grand daughter home tomorrow and then out comes the camera............this is a wonderful thread...........love those begonias.......
Butch, Cracked Ice is a beauty. Love it.
Hi Dimmer,
Welcome to the club. That first one looks like 'Lucerna' and the second one may be 'Richmondensis' although the leaves don't look quite right but the blooms remind me of that begonia.
My wife got that first one nearly 33 years ago as a cutting from a friend and it has been in the family ever since. That is the name we were given too - Angel Wing. Mine hasn't started blooming yet but hopefully will soon. Everyone should have one of these.
Here are some of my spotted canes.
