House Finch (female)
DAILY PICTURES Vol. 15
Is there a way it could be put in our signatures?
I'll ask about it.

Love the Cardinal pic! Nice shots!
catbird, I LOVE your heron, and I've yet to see this one. That's beautiful!
I did see a little Green Heron a couple days ago, and took a bunch of shots, but none that pleased me. Grey day at the time. Of course the sun came out as I was headed back up the mountain for home.
Boy oh boy oh boy, did I ever miss a good photo op today! I was taking one of my clients home when I saw several people by the side of the road. At the same time I spotted them on my right, out of my eye I saw some movement by a fence - turned out to be a juvenile eagle. Apparently he had been in the road so these folks were kind of watching traffic (happily there is very little along this road anyway). But guess who didn't have their camera? And I ALWAYS have my camera - probably 95% of the time!! I went back later, but he/she was gone (hopefully had managed to fly back up to its nest which was in the area where it was wandering).
So I didn't get an eagle shot, but I sure got a cute fawn photo instead.
Regarding EXIF info:
If you use FireFox as your Browser then get the "EXIF Viewer" Extension. Once installed you can right click on the full sized pictures and view the EXIF data.

BTW nice pics folks :)
Is this a female Bullock's Oriole?
Hard to be 100% sure with the pic quality, but I'd say yes.
I wish there was some way to display the exif info ...
Of course there's also the problem that if the photo has been edited at all (e.g. cropped, brightened, rotated 90°, or anything), the exif data added by the camera is lost.

The first one is a Goldfinch.
Very nice pic of the Steller Gras!

That will depend which editing program is used and the configuration settings of the program. E.g. Picasa leaves EXIF data intact and only changes size data in the EXIF if cropped/resized.
Not got that one. Is it a freebie, or does it cost?
I've got the free versions of photoshop and paint shop pro, they both delete the exif stuff.

Picasa is a freebie and IMHO currently the best quick editing and cataloging prog around. It also allows you to geolocate your pictures on Google Earth allowing you to mark the position where the picture was taken (unless your camera already recorded geo location data to the picture).
Sorry to hijack the thread but I believe it's some info that needs to be shared :)
So nice to have Lance back! He is so pretty/handsome! :)
I use both picaso and Adobe elements three. They both leave the exif intact. Picaso will not upload to some forums unless the photo is put through another editer first. I think Picaso is the best sharpening program. I use elements for my cropping and light levels if needed. Then I go to a premium noiseware program if I had to shoot at 800ISO or higher. Finally I use a program that came with my scanner if I need to reduce size and resolution to upload to the web to protect my photos from photo thieves. Picaso is the only freeware that I know of that keeps exif intact.
Nice pics, pelletory and Murmur! :)
He's a beautiful color. Great shot!!!
Janet
Nice catch Murmur!!
LOL, very nice!
Nice pic of the Juvi Cardinal, still too young to get embarrassed and go red :)
Nice pics Mumur! I love these guys but have never had them in my own yard,
I see nuthatches from time to time, but have yet to get a clear shot at one. They usually disappear into the density of the conifers about the time I see them. Lucky you!
Before I got a camera, my son and I both observed them wedge sunflower seeds in the bark of a tree for easier cracking. Birds are so amazing to watch.
Great photos everyone! Keep sharing, please!
Very nice Janet! I would love to see one of those!
