Coming up: emailed newsletters

Many of you "old timers" will remember that we used to email out the daily DG newsletter, and that we stopped mailing it out several years ago.

I'm please to say that we're preparing a solution to be able to email out the newsletter again, and in a couple weeks we will begin to send out the newsletter via email.

I'm planning at least a weekly newsletter which will be much nicer than the current newsletter.

To subscribe to the newsletter, go to "My Info" then Preferences and you'll see the checkbox. Check off the box for the newsletter and save the page and you will then be subscribed and will receive the newsletter once we start sending it.

Just to see if I have this straight.

Is this a DG newsletter, or is it a combination of DG, PF, BF etc.?

This weekly newsletter will come email, but we can still get the daily news online like always? That one won't be emailed to us, right?

The daily newsletter you've been seeing on the DG website will continue as is.

The new newsletter will be a combined newsletter, covering all of DG. It'll be nice. :)

Thanks Dave! This is exciting. I don't make it to all areas of DG anymore, so it'll be great to see what's going on in those other areas.

Me, toooo! Very nice, Dave! I enjoyed seeing the numbers--really brings to light how big we really are, yet we retain a close-knit community feel. Incredible.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Got my copy today and really like it. The statistics are interesting. Thank you, Dave.

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

I really like it too, but when I tried to click on the links to "continue reading", instead of using foxfire which is my default browser, it tried to open IE and said invalid address. Not sure if it is a glitch or just me, but wanted to pass it on.

Edited to say, never mind. LOL I was just reading some other posts and see that the glitch has been noted and corrected. :~)

Riverland--does the system have your correct email address? If your email addy is outdated then maybe that's why you didn't get it.

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

Thanks I found it in the junk mail. How dare they put my most important mail in the junk pile.LOL

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

I've checked my email and junk mail and haven't seen it..My email address looks ok in DG so I'm not sure what has happened? It shows I'm subscribed and everything.

Could your email provider maybe have blocked it as spam? Sometimes you have to go in and tell your email to accept things from a certain address, otherwise some filters think it's spam and block it before you even know it was there. Some will put it in a junk mail folder where you can retrieve it if you want to, but some won't let it through at all.

teacup754, you are using AOL and they do not accept email from us. Try as I might, there's just nothing for it. AOL does not accept mail from DG... I recommend people using AOL should sign up for a free email account at gmail.com.

I would never trust a company like AOL with something as important as email...
