Thank You, Ron. Good reading! How nice you are to organize info for us all!
Betty, I'm goin on over to photos so we don't "hi-jack" Dinu's MG thread.

Dinu,
The 3rd pic you posted as Cardinal Climber...... I bought seed as Morning Glory Sunspots, I will post a pic. The leaves are heart shape not "feathery" like I think Cardinal Climber's are. It is a pretty mini mg.

I didn't realize the mandevilla was growing up a speed limit sign! I saw a different pic of it on another thread. I'm surprised the city allows you to do that. Although, I think if all speed limit signs were as pretty as yours, more people would pay attention to them. lol My name is Bonnie, and my nickname as a child was "Barnie". Probably not after Don Knotts character Barnie Fife, probably cause my little friends thought it was funny. No one calls me that anymore (Thank Goodness!)

Bonnie.

Love that nickname----so very funny I laughed and laughed. I have been growing Mandevillas up that speed limit sign for over 10 years now and so far the police have not said a word to me and I see them driving by daily. I guess they would say something if I allowed the vine to cover up the sign. But I am not doing that and am now training the vine to go down. If you followed the thread above--I want to try and grow two mandevillas in that planter next year, one pink and one white growing together.

Sounds like you would be a fun person to be around!!!!!!!!

Thank you, Betty. I like to think I'm a fun gal. I like the pink/white idea, then mix pink and white petunias at the bottom or keep one color? Have you tried calibrocia (million bells)? No dead heading. They don't smell though. I do love your all pink, but it is fun to try different themes. I had a beautiful mandevilla about 4 or 5 years ago, it was pink, too! I just haven't gotten one to grow since. I say every year, I'm not getting mandevilla this year..... and then there they are at the nursery, so healthy and vigorous looking. I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Aunt B,

I have Million Bells in my hanging pots and love them. I will post a picture of one of my Dipladenia with Million Bells. I will try White and Pink petunias---sounds great!

I replaced all the soil in that planter last April and put only Miracle Gro potting soil and Miracle Gro Garden soil and mixed it all together. I have only used Algoflash a liquid fertilizer I ordered on line from Burpee Seed Co. I am just hesitant to use anything stronger because I am concerned the petunias may get over fertilized and die. I do not use osmocote either --even though if all I had in the planter was a Mandevilla I would use Osmocote. So far the plants in the planter are doing well and I hope they will all do this well until Frost.
