Question on Privacy setting on DG Journal

I recently changed my journal privacy setting and now cannot change to an external view. This is what it repeatedly pulls up. http://davesgarden.com/journal/j/
With the privacy setting on can I no longer provide links to select items?

If your journal's private then nobody but you can see it, so I don't think there would be any way to provide links to items in it since nobody else would have access. If you want to be able to do that, I think you'll have to make it public again.
