I'm new to Dave's Garden. Just love the forums. I would like the same format of the orginal question but, I would like to see a reverse of replies, the newest ones first - to the messages. When I'm interested in something I hate having scroll down to see all the new responsives. Please let me know what other's think.
Reverse order of Replies
No need to scroll....just hit the 'skip to new' button at the top of the thread. It will take you right past everything that you've already seen.
This way, someone who comes into the conversation after it has gone for a bit can make sense of what has been said.
Yep. Going to the bottom and trying to read "up" to catch up on a thread that has been going for a while would be difficult at best. But "skip to new" is a lifesaver for those who are following a longish thread already.

Dlefferts, when i click on skip to new and the tread is long, it won't take me to the end of the thread, but if I hit the " end " key on my keyboard it does take me to the end, so maybe that would work for you.

Here's a thought. There's a frequently-used forum software that breaks things out in pages. If you could combine pages with "skip to new" it might help with the dialup folks' issues as well. "Skip to new" only works if you're following a thread consistently. With the other software you can also configure how many messages per page to reduce the number of pages if your connection can handle it.
