p.s. you two have very vivid imaginations.
July 11
If you think Moby is wild here, you should meet her in person! :) She is completely nuts! LOL Seriously, she is really a nice person with a heart of gold. And boy, can her husband do BBQ. Yummers.
I met her and Magnolialover at the Iowa Round-up this past May.
Magnolialover, is a sweet, kind gentle lady, with just a tiny bit of the devil jumping in her eye. :) Mags, brought her daughter Madeline with her to the round-up and if there ever was a budding gardener, it's Madeline! That kid has a good eye for plants.
All the folks I met at the round-up were great folks.
Wicker, you should come next year! You'd fit in just fine! :)

That would be a great idea ~ isn't Chicago a 5 hour drive to Cedar Rapids? Same amount of time it takes for me to drive from here. And WP has a cute little buddy that I'd love to blow bubbles with. :)
Oops, better go explain a nasty crack I made on another thread....
Thanks for inviting me. It does sound like fun, and to a city girl Nebraska sounds like a very exotic road trip. I have a hard time finding an hour to go get my hair cut, but a girl can dream! Will have to discuss with the bubble-blower, and the garden boy, of course....
Oh dear, you really do need to get out more. LOL 'Exotic' is the last word that comes to mind when driving through the Plains states.
dialtone, more like- least most of Illinois is
edited to say that your garden is so pretty! what an honor to get in the Trib- wow!!

Thanks, Hyblaean!
I don't find the plains states boring at all. Open space is very exciting to me. Just realized you said Cedar Rapids, and I said Nebraska, but, honest, I know it's in Iowa. Don't want you to think that all plains states look the same to me. Sometimes I think a lot slower than I type.
We've gone off topic, and it's my fault.

For that, you shall be flogged with a limp lily!
It's not a serious infraction to be off-subject here at DG.
I agree with you ~ the Plains are quite lovely if you're the kind that can appreciate the wide open view. To some it looks desolate. I especially like the Sandhills in western Nebraska.
wickerparker, we'd love to have you at the Iowa Roundup. The whole roundup thing was quite the deal. I couldn't believe how nice so many people were, genuinely friendly, kind. You just don't find that often in this world we live in.
And the plant swap was one of the most fun, yet a bit crazy, things I had seen in a while too. So organized, this committee that planned it, really knew what they were doing.
Ticker, Moby, Wandasflowers (where is Wanda anyway?),Iowaron,Maxine, intercessor, my gosh, the list goes on, what a wonderful bunch. It would only be better if your family came.
Oh no, I feel the limp lily coming. Sorry, but I just had to tell her how much fun you guys are ;)
It was fun at the round-up. Wandasflowers was the ring leader, Linda-Iowa, Alwaysweeding, Poho, Mystery Poodle, IA Garden Gal, DAX, sewNsow, and me were her minions. ;)
Food was great!! It was a bit windy, but I only got hit by one plate of flying food.. ;) LOL
Next year you'll all need to come!
