I am off to Mississippi with the grandkids so that they can visit their mother since she won't be able to come home. She joined the Army a couple of months ago and was injured in boot but the injury did not show itself until about 3 weeks ago. The muscle in her left arm is torn and she may lose the use of it completely only time will tell. She is depressed over it and a little scared of all that is about to happen with surgeries all ready scheduled to repair the damage. Any support and encouraging words you could give her would be appreciated. You can leave her messages at the link below as she reads it daily.

And thanks in advance.

Well thanks all; we are back and 150 miles from home we get a call telling us that we were having a birthday party for my youngest grandson at our house the next day. SURPRISE!

After seeing my daughter it is obvious that her injury can be fixed but the military are dragging their feet. After waiting 3 weeks to see a therapist they want nothing to do with her and want her to see a neurologist now (in 2 weeks) and if this doctor shakes their head they want to discharge her like she is. That ain't gonna happen I already have a lawyer and as far as we are concerned they broke the arm and they are going to fix it. Otherwise we had a great time at the gulf. Had to fix the toilet in our room myself first rattle out of the box though. LOL Whats a vacation if you have to play like a bear out in the woods.

Pretty young lady...you are correct, have it fixed before she's discharged..could result in major problems later in life... how did the birthday party go? even though it was a surprise to you, bet you enjoyed the festivities...

LOL...... Nothing like having a party when all ya probably wante d to do was sit back and relax for a bit. Glad ya made it ok and glad ya back safely.

Thanks for the update on your daughter. If she really wants to stay in, I would tell her instea d of discharging her to find her another job if she can't do the one she picked. The army has 150 different fields and lots of sub jobs under them. They can find her one she likes. She got a good mind and the rest of her body and guts, cuz it take s guts to enlist.

My son serving overseas and it hasn't been that long since he got out of basic and it a killer I know. That some of the roughest and toughest physically training ever.

I had a arm injury from where somebody hit me in a car and it was no wher e as serious as your daughters but that darn thign took almost 8 months before I was able to move my arm more than a fe inche s in any direction. It gonna be a longer time for her to heal.

Tell, her to hang in there, keep faith with God and keep fighting til she gets what she wants and satisfaction. Will still keep her added to the prayer list.

The party was great. A good time by all.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Well here is an update that would tick off the Pope.

After just over two months of telling her that she has torn muscles and would probably lose the use of her arm, the Doc came into the examination room with Godzilla and told my daughter that this will hurt and they popped her shoulder back into place.

And it only took them two months to figure it out. She now has full use of her arm again. It will be sore for a couple of months and maybe as long as eight before she gets full feeling back in it because of the pinched nerves. A full set of ex rays would have revealed the problem in the first place.

Don Before :( After :)
