Did some internal PlantFiles programming this morning

I did a huge overhaul of the programming behind the main "PF Go Page" today (that's the page that has all the details, comments and thumbnails).

If anyone sees any bugs, please let me know!

I've now gone through and made some more major changes across all of PlantFiles. The changes were all internal, so nobody should notice a thing (except maybe PlantFiles will run smoother and faster).

In short, I updated the code to start bringing it into this century. Most of the software that runs PlantFiles hasn't been seen by human eyes in over 5 years...

I did notice one change. When entering a new plant this morning, I did not get offered the chance to enter all details. It is a much slower process having to select each category in turn.
I tried going to live view, but it still wasn't there.
Can we have that back for new plants please?

Ken,

That should still be there. It's in the "Your actions" box at the bottom of the plant page. Could you check and see if it exists for you? You need to have been the one to have created the plant's entry to use it, I believe.

I tried adding another new plant and I found the Set all details this time. It used to appear at the top of all the categories didn't it?

I think it might have been. It really belongs down in the bottom with the rest of the "affects the whole entry" features.

That was a link near the top when the entry was brand-new (as in you just created it and returned to it), or you switched to live view on one of your own entries. It's okay with me either way, as long as it's easy for newer members to find it when they've created an entry.

Dave, I just tried to edit the caption of an image in PlantFiles, and when I select edit, I am taken to the home page instead of being given the chance to edit the caption: http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/14963/

What Ken posted above, I've found is happening today to me.

I'd like to edit the captions on a couple photos in Viburnum dentatum 'Red Feather', and it throws me to the home page.

This should now be fixed! Thanks for the report.
