Your body's reaction to hot foods?

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Hello all,

As I sit here eating a burrito with green chilies hubby
grew, I can't help but wonder how many others experience
the same effects I do.

When eating hot foods, especially jalapeños, my ears
hurt. Yes, you read that right, they hurt. Painful hurt.

I'm trying to find something about this on the internet
but at present am having no luck. It is my understanding
that capsaicin plays a role, of course, but it's rather funny
that my ears hurt more than my mouth burns.

Anyone else? :-)

Can't help with the ears, but sure would have enjoyed those peppers.

Do you or your DH want some chili pequin? I have about a gallon of dried pods and the plant is producing 1/3 -1/2 cup a day.

Just D-mail with address info and I'll have some on their way.

Oh lordy..Hot; aren't the pequin the 100,000 on the heat scale rating.
I cannot eat the hot peppers, but the capsain cream did well used on nerve inflamation on my back..go figure. Probably went away in self preservation. :)
