July 4th Blooms......

mag,
that's what the plant files said; just not available right now.

They (the Lily Garden) usually get their new listings up by August, if I am remembering correctly. I know that B & D Lilies had one of the Crowns (there are a few) in their new listings and I know they are up and running for fall sales.

Yup . . . found it

Did any one else receive B & D's fall catalog? I did and was very disappointed in their offering, but then they have had some very wet weather out there, so maybe they rotted.

I thought that there was a lot less than I expected. I was a little bummed. It's one of the best catalogs I get in the mail too, usually. It just seemed like they didn't have the numbers they usually do. However, there are some keepers in there ;)

I wasn't impressed either. I'm also not aware of too much rain up there, other than a nasty storm back in December. I'm not positive but I think they are in the rainshadow of the Olympics, at least Sequim and Discovery Bay are (just a little to the west of Port Townsend). It could be they are just changing their focus on how they do business, stockpiling more in cold storage for spring.

mag,
which ones caught your eye? I may just hold out the the Iowa Lily Society sale; their bulbs were very nice and their prices very good.

I'm guilty in stating that I already sent my order in. I thought I had 'Ortega' somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere, so I got that one and 'Sabeneto', 'Jasmyne' and maybe one or two more that aren't coming to mind right now.
I would get 'Nymph' in a heartbeat! And Moby's 'Gardenwheel' looks simply luscious, ,just waiting for mine to bloom now.
Does that help, TwinLakes? Lol!
The societies have just wonderful offerings, some of the best around, and the prices are great too!

When I should just be satisfied enjoying what's in the garden ~ here I am wanting to buy more.

As my friends Ticker and Moby often say, we are here to enable. I think this is the perfect time to think about more lilies (well, when isn't it ;0) )
Seriously though, it's much easier to visualize placing something else in my garden during growing season than in January, when nothing is growing. It's like, "oh, that would look good there with that" and you can compare heights etc. while things are blooming. Does that make sense?
I'm here to say you can enjoy your garden in bloom and respectfully want to add a few more, or a hundred more ; ) It's all good, TwinLakes.
p.s. TwinLakes, Your tomatoes are nearing ripening and boy are they looking good. Mmmmmmmmmm. Thanks again for some lovely starts.

Oh, I am glad they are doing well for you. I have a lot of tomatoes but no where near ripe except the cherries.
