Sorry, no blue liliums! Siberian iris Adj, my latest and bluest sib.

Happy 4th to all!

Oh my look what I just discovered in my seedling bed! Red and white all on one lily bloom. This is the maiden bloom of an OT seedling from lilyseed.com.

Not sure which words came to mind first...."broad stripes and bright stars" or "the bombs bursting in air"

Fantastic surprise on the 4th of July!

Oh Pard, where did you get that beautifulllll siberian iris??

Gorgeous color and your lilies cannot be equaled.

Happy 4th.

Maxine, I purchased the iris from Aitkens, I think they no longer carry it. I have always wondered if it was really Adj because no matter how well I take care if it it never grows more than about a foot tall! One of these days I will get around to asking the Aitkens what they might think it is if not Adj. Adj should be around 3 feet tall.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Pard, how tall is your OT lilyseed-ling? Very nice, but I'm still thinking about 'Yum'.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Now you would have to ask that, magnolia. It is a whopping two feet tall.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

It is very nice, pard. 2 feet or 7 feet. It's a beauty. It's funny with those OTs , how some have the trumpet height and some the oriental. I like the taller ones, that way I don't have to bend down, see the weeds, and feel guilty for not weeding ;)

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

You got that right Mags.!!!!

Aren't the weeds viscious this yr.? along with the heat and humidity or am I just getting old?
That could be it too.

Have a great week everyone.

Beautiful blooms pard! Love that OT seedling.

This is new from bloomingbulb this year (American Spirit I think) and I'm afraid they may be virused. What do you think?

Neil, show a picture of the foliage please, so we can judge it.
Blossoms look fine to me, like some of mine in that family.

Maxine, that is really good to learn. I have heard others speak of some OTs having a natural streaking tendency. The foliage looks good; I think you can tell in this one.

There is not a thing wrong with your lilies. No virus that I can see.
I had potted up an Arena that the foliage is streaked like maybe a virus, but so far haven't seen anything to confirm it. Buds are developing now, will tell later when they open.

This one said 'Lombardia'. It is shorter than I thought it would be, so I'll be moving these to the front row.

This is beautiful, but somehow I am not sure what it is. I got it last fall, I think. One of the tags near it says 'Touching', but one of them is in my "magnolialover Cries' pile and looks identicle to the other two, so I guess it is virus free. Wha-Hoo!
I know this is the time of year everybody says "do you know what this is?"
So, I'm here to ask, once again, does anybody have a name for this beauty?

Very pretty, magnolia. I love those pastel pinks and do I see a sea green stig? Nice! My mainstream orientals look to be weeks away from blooming.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

The long awaited, 'Bravura'. The flower is a lot larger than 'Silk Road' and I took a million pictures of it, trying to get a good one, this isn't a great one, but it's the best I could get. It's wonderful and I love it, just as much as I expected to.

lovely Bravura!

I can't remember if I posted 'Lavender Frost' yet.

This is a better 'Bravura' picture. Don't you like the large wavy petals?

Mags, such lovely lilies... You could post your pictures again and again and I wouldn't get tired of them or anyone elses for that matter. :) Our lily season will be winding down soon... *sigh*

Oh, and Moby posted a picture of Touching a couple threads ago....

Here is the last of my Dutch Garden's OT's to bloom...

Honeymoon... Seems to be what they sold me. Lousy picture tho..

Yes, 'Touching' is quite a different lily than the one I posted. I knew it wasn't 'Touching' but I am still trying to figure out, with all of this *meticulous* labeling, how I screwed up. I bet 'Touching' is near that one. Oh well. At least I am *trying* to keep it all straight, right? Lol!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Hey, at least most of your lilies ARE who they are supposed to be.. :) I did call Dutch Gardens and they are sending me a bag of "Touching" OT's this fall... So, next year, we'll see if they really are who they say they are. :) LOL It's always an adventure!

I have a lily that llilyfan got me at the Iowa Lily Society sale. It's called "TOUCH". Have never been able to find a picture of what it will look like. It should open here pretty soon.

Here is your "RED HOT"

TwinLakes, I think 'Red Hot' looks beautiful in your garden too. How do you like it?
Maxine...tired of lily pictures?? You make me laugh, really. I love those pictures! Keep them coming.

(Judith) Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Even we lurkers would never get tired of your pics, Maxine. Just whets my appetite for when mine will start blooming. Elegant Crown is magnificent!

Wow, Maxine! In that last pic ~ what is the very tall lily with the red blooms, near the windmill?

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Your full garden lily shots are beautiful, Maxine. Wow, what a lot of lilies!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Maxine,
just gorgeous; that first orange one you posted; does it have a name; if not, it's got MY name on it. LOL

Mags,
I just love that lily and I put it right in the middle of the garden like you said to do.

Here is Touch OT, not quite open; I could not find pictures of it anywhere, so it was a surprise to me.

Moby, think that is the one that was sold to me as Red Dutch that you had posted previously.

I am going out late this afternoon, if it ever cools off and try and get some more pictures and have to find the ones that I bought from Faraway Flowers.
Dang memory of mine. Will have to go back to drawing out a diagram of lily beds and what is planted where like I used too.

Arlene, are you talking about the one called First Crown O-A? That is a new one for me this yr. will have to look and see where I purchased it. Only have one bulb of it.

Have a cool afternoon. I have company coming tomorrow for dinner, so must get down stairs and finish my cooking.

Maxine

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Yes, Max,
That's the one; maybe if I google it I will find someone selling it.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Whatever it is, it sure has a presence in the garden. :)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I know the Lily Garden has had it.
