Gardening by The Moon

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

This will probably teach you to ask such survey questions. I voted and commented on the thread. Basically here is what I said. My grandparents and parents always used the Famers Almanac like a Bible. Would there be enough interest to start a Thread by that name, or Farmer's Almanac, so that those who know how to use an almanac, could teach us that don't know? I am a firm believer, my DF only did certain things based on the phases of the moon.

So, begging you please to consider this suggestion as a serious one.

You mean start a forum??? I would find that very interesting. My Grandfather and Great Grandfather were both Master Gardeners, and there was always a Farmers Almanac laying around. I was too young at the time to understand that part of the gardening aspect, but would gladly learn now from others that do know. What a wonderful idea!!!!!

that sounds like a great idea. All I know is you are supposed to plant root crops by the dark of the moon and above ground by the light.

Dave, are you listening|? See there is some interest, and give it overnight, and tomorrow to see how many others chime in.

Even if a lot of people don't chime in...it's still a good idea.....it would be a forum for learning....it could have a lot of things...folklore and history......the meaning of a ring around the moon, the stripes on a wooly bear caterpillar, a sun dog.......so much fun!!!! and so very interesting!!

Pleaseeee Dave :))

I would love to learn about gardening by the moon. My Grandparents did it, and always had wonderful crops.
I may not have alot to add, but I sure would be soaking all the info up.

I love the idea,so much to learn.

I just got a d-mail from someone who is supporting the garden forum, Planting by the Moon, she asked that I relay her support here.

defoecat - does not need to be a new forum - start a thread in gardening or where appropriate ( just an idea). This idea seems to work for a lot of topics.

I think this would be a great subject to have as a new forum. It would enable us to keep a running discussion about the phases of the moon and remind each other the best days for doing what etc.

How does this work around the world? I suppose we can coordinate it according to time/date

Thank you Dave, seems like there are several people who are interested. This may be the quickest turn around from asking to receiving. Thanks again.
