Ok......2 people got wet!!
No Victor.....I didn't go for a dunk. It was only 66-69 here today, to cold for me to go swimming.
What's blooming today # 3
oh man... great shots pixie... made me laugh
Thats a great shot Anita! I can see it's "fur" !! LOL
I'm jealous, Pixie! I'd love to swing on that rope! :-) Great pics, everyone! Tamara
There must have been alot of nectar in that flower. He didn't budge when I went in for the close up - I just about touched him...totally amazing.
Anita, or anyone, what's the white flower in the bottom right of the picture?

And how do you get so many pics on one post like that?
Venu- I too love Gerberas but have always had the problem of them flowering once, then going for a long period of nothing before flowering again. Is that normal?
Chuck, Congratulations! Have a cigar.
Tom, Another unique beauty!
Gram & Victor very nice. I guess Victor does have a rose.
Congratulations Chuck, I'll be looking for Little Grappette' in the catalogs soon.
Gram - I like yor lavender and Rio Samba pic, Sexy Rexy you say - what does your Dh say about that.LOL
Victor - I like the delphinium and sedum pic.
Celeste - looks like water fun. I hate to tell you but you're not a kid anymore ;)~
Anita - GREAT pic, what other butterflies do you get?
Anitabryk2 great butterfly shot... that's way closer than any of the shots I have so far
Aspen - that is Love in a Mist/Persion Jewels http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/38264/index.html .
Thanks - about the butterfly pic - I'm not sure how many I get. I've seen the White Cabbage, Painted Lady, Monarch, some skippers and sulphurs and lots of other little brown ones. Here is a list of what we can possibly see http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/map?dc=59&_dcc=1&si=33 .
Absolutely astounding pictures everyone.
Pixie, you are very pretty and I too call it a "Tarzan" swing. Always have, always will. Isn't a day at the lake SOOOO relaxing? Looks like you all had a wonderful day :)
Not much new in the garden this morning.....waiting on the daylilies and lilies to open up.....waiting and waiting and waiting *lol*
Kim
Anita, great butterfly picture. I have the honor of knowing a gentlemen that gave up a thriving business to persue his love of butterflys. He sold the business and opened "The Butterfly Place". He's been open for about 8 years now. My wife and I went up to see him and how he was doing. It is the most wonderful ntaure place I've ever seen. It contains a large open greenhouse type of structure that you enter and the butterflys are everywhere. They flutter all around, land on you and you can take really great pictures. He also has alot of edicational things about them. One thing that I learned is that those "butterfly houses" that you can buy are useless. He had an example of one that the only thing that used it was wasps.
I am so glad that he is doing well. I don't know of many people that would give up a comfortable living for butterflys.
On another note, I love everyones pictures. It is really inspiring seeing them. The one thing that I am learning is how quickly a "living garden" changes. Every day is like a treasure hunt for new and beautful additions. The other thing is that Nature has arrived with them. I'm seeing alot of birds and butterflys and my favorite bumble bees.
I think that when you garden, and not just grow flowers, you become part of the ever changing world of nature.
OK motor mouth, enough for now, talk to everyone later.
Chuck
I loved your story Chuck and you're right, It's fun to not just "grow flowers" but to be "one" with nature. I can sit there for hours and watch bees doing their thing. Sometimes I can hear myself say....you go little bee *lol* I know the end result will be seeds to share with all those that love to garden and love nature. I think gardeners are a treasure and are the most loving, caring group of people I have ever met. This is truly a family within itself. It doesn't matter what type of plants you're in to or how your gardens look......it's what's on the inside and the passion we all have for beauty and the "simple" things in life. I believe we will all be together and "grow" as one someday :)
Kim
Dave, I've posted a number of Rose shots - feeling okay??
thanks, all
Pixie, what a fun day! I have to admit I was hoping you swung out and took a leap in the lake. You're so cute :0) Love the smell of carnations (asking myself why I don't have any in the garden?)
Anita, what a wonderful butterfly pic! I had a monarch in my butterfly garden the other day. It was windy and it folded it's wings and sat on the ground. I stood with my camera and it sat and sat and would NOT open its wings. I waited until I couldn't stand there any more.
Al, a little story behind Sexy Rexy. DH never liked his first name and Rex is kind of short for our last name so a lot people at work called him Rex. So, in fact, when I ordered the rose, I said I have a Sexy Rexy in my house, might as well have one in the garden, too. It's his rose! (so there!! thought you'd get me in trouble, didn't you??)
nothing new for show & tell today...first day in a long time. but lots & lots of buds
Chuck:
I love your 'gardening musing' today.
Everyone:
GREAT photos!
Pirl:
What great stories you tell. Lakes are the best, which is why I live right across the road from one. I love hearing the loons in the early morning.
oh, Celeste you look so good!!! really great to see your face!!!! oh I would love to go on that Tarzan swing... well it will probably be the last time anyone uses it!!!! I don't think my arms can hold me !!!!
great pictures everyone... great pictures!!!
Thanks, Candyce. We're on a peninsula with beautiful creeks on two sides and the bay just southeast of us. We enjoy watching the majestic swans, the everyday ducks who walk over for some food and water, the cranes, terns and erns, seagulls but most of all the great osprey and their dives from such great heights to catch their meals. That's fun!
Pirl, it sounds like you are in heaven! Oh....I just envisioned what it must be like.......... glorious!
Kim
Huggle, I LOVE that unnamed DL!!! Tamara
Thanks Tamara! Im afraid I bit off more then I could chew with the garden this year. We have planted about 100 different daylilies & numerous cala lilies that we didnt keep the tags with. I also have about 150 Iris's that are about to be planted that unfortuantely will also be unnamed, as we just dont have the time....But I do love surprises-and that daylily really is a stunner.
~Dawn
Aspen, all my Gerbers are in pots not in the garden. They bloom continuously as long as I keep them watered and deadheaded.
Anita that is a gorgeous butterfly pic!!
I like Yvonne's form too (I'm resisting). Not 'overly double' like so many Dahlias. I like that Rudbeckia Al. Those darker, Autumn-like 'hot' colors, I can live with.
We had Tom Pounce, I think it is, for years and only lost it when the area flooded one time and loved it.

I think it's 'Pouce'. It's very nice, whatever it's called. How's the scent??
Smells like chicken - I can't smell well, so not much to me.
Does your family have to tell you it's time to take a shower?!!!
They keep hinting about something - not sure what. I can smell lilacs, privet - real strong things fine.
