Interest in fall swap in Frederick?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

No worries about this thread getting O/T at this point, but when we start a new one organizing stuff for the actual swap, we might have to try a little harder to keep it on track so that information doesn't get buried. Y'all are just silly today!

Happy gave me a nice clump of sweet woodruff, and I pulled it apart into a bunch of individual little plants and potted them up. When they get a little bigger, I'll plant them out. They're looking good! I was also amazed to see how much larger the plants that are either Kitten Toes or Mouse Ears had grown in the last week or two... I separated that clump into individual plants also and got enough to fill a 36 cell flat! I guess I need to take some photos this week.... :-)

Happy, My friend has one she got hers from a Garden Supply house and it was called Greenhouse in a Bag.

'salright! Tell the thread police to go home, nobody called for them. I think this has officially become just a "chatty thread," which is fine... I'll start a new thread at some point for officially organizing the fall swap, but this thread was just to see if folks are interested (and they are!). :-)

Just like a good garden path. These threads they do a wander.

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

LOL - yes, just like our minds, I find mine wandering all over the place - when I really need to be concentrating on my next project - I am staring out the window at my front yard and "wandering" if I can possibly fit in more plants!

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Depends on the date. The only Saturday I have open in Sept is Sept 22 and Frederick is about an hour's drive from here in Carlisle, PA

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Sadly, I think Shirley also had a prior commitment on the 8th. It's so difficult with so many schedules. I know how hard it is here - just in my own household...lol

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sorry, but I think we're pretty well settled on September 8... that was the weekend that seemed to be working for most people when we were first tossing the idea around, and it seemed like I needed to just pick a date so people could start making plans, so the date has been set.

In case anybody missed it above...

Fall Plant Swap
Saturday, September 8, 2007
noonish until 6-ish
at Critter's home in Frederick

I'll start a new thread after a while with details, a running list of who is planning to come, etc... we'll do food and plant have/want threads closer to the date also.

See this post (above, before this thread started seriously meandering) for some of the things I've been thinking about for this gathering, http://davesgarden.com/forums/p.php?pid=3676136

I could go 9/22. Am free that day. That's the only day in Sept I have open. Do craft shows all the other weekend. Sorry about that & I am a little over an hour from Frederick. Sorry. Maybe for the spring one for next year, I could conduct a cement leaf workshop at a RU????????????

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

cement leaf workshop?!?!?

how cool....and what timing!
the other day my husband thought i was crazy when i told him some of the leaves would be cool with cement!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Sorry to miss the R.U., but I'll be out-of-town on September 8th.

A cement leaf workshop at a R.U. is an excellent idea! I would love to learn out to make a hypertufa leaf.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I took a hypertufa class this spring at the Extension Service office, and I have so many projects in mind now! Those cement leaves are just wonderful, and I'd love to learn to make them.

I'm sorry to hear that Shirley and Button will be unavailable on the 8th... I know we'll never find a date that works for everybody, so we'll just have to try to gather more often! :-)

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

There ya go. I have all of May open every year (I don't do craft shows in May but I sure do go to flower sales!!!)
