I am just glad I have a husband who like to do what I do and also willing to drive me to the places for the RU's .... I would have to leave about a month early to make it there in time...LOL... No I am not that bad as I have driven to Jersey with my MIL two times and I did fine.. I just dont like to drive if I dont have to... He is a good man I think I will keep him....LOLOLOL...

Interest in fall swap in Frederick?
Hi Everyone - So good to hear the plans for the next swap. Thank you Critter for volunteering to host this one. And thank you Hart for holding the first one. This is such a great group. I feel blessed to know you all and to have you in my life. I too am looking forward to talking a bit more to each other this time.
I suppose that this time I will try to come up with something that I can prepare food wise. At Hart's I was in charge of chips. ha-ha I have a few things that I prepare that will be a good addition to any finger food set up.
Alrighty Susan, John and I will most likely travel up on Thursday or Friday too. I do not do very well on long trips, and need to rest after traveling. At some point I will ask Critter to point me in the right direction for a nearby hotel. Maybe we could get together on Friday and run around a bit to nurseries or other things of interest.
Anyway, it sounds like another great get together. I hope that everyone will have a good weekend. Take care.
Ruby
Yes - agree with Ruby...can't wait!!
Critter - what was the name of the "some pumice-type gravelly bits " and which store did you find it at, if you don't mind my asking? I'm always looking for that type of product for both by C & S as well as Plumies.
Ooh, nursery hopping on Friday! I hope somebody has a cell phone so I can join up at some point... I've got an afternoon thing that may take until 3:30, so I might have to wing it. There are hotels just a few miles away, so that won't be a problem. I'll check around next month and see what I can find out about rates and other info.
Chantell, the gravelly bits were in a bag marked "Soil Perfector." We picked it up at a local nursery in Winston-Salem, so I ahve no idea who would carry it. But they told me about a similar sounding product at Ace Hardware (had "till" in the name... Rodotill, maybe?), which they were out of stock on, so you might try your local Ace.
Thanks Critter! I think I'm the only plant person alive that has yet to visit their local Ace...LOL. We don't have one down here that I'm aware of but I have one within 10 min of my work.
Hi All,
Ruby that is why we travel ahead also my body kills me from sitting in a car... Hey I have a cell phone and know how to use it ladies... So garden shopping it is... I hate to do real shopping but I love to go to the nurseries.....
Ok going to cook dinner early so when Kevin gets in we eat then out we go... We are doing day things for our Annv... Today we golf... TO hot for me but hey I can ride and talk...LOL
Susan
Ruby I also want to just sit and talk... Now that is something I know how to do...LOL
If your local Ace doesn't carry the gravelly stuff, if you can find it on their website you can have it delivered to your local store for pickup with no shipping charges.
Good tip on having it shipped to the store Hart. I bought a garden cart from Ace a year or so ago and had it delivered to the store. Sure helps matters.
I hope that everyone is having a good day.
Ruby
I love it that the stores provide that - thanks for letting me know, Diane!! I just had a mini-greenhouse (read VERY mini - 3-4 shelves with a covering) shipped directly to my local Walmart - they have that service now, as well!! I'm such a cheapo...if I can get away w/o paying s/h...I'm a happy camper!!
We looked all over the place one time to get a particular finishing wax SO uses for his woodworking. I finally found it at Ace online and had it shipped to the store here. So convenient.
Well if my "wife" Becky was going to attend then I figured that I should try as well...but I just checked the calendar and I have a wedding to addend that day. Bummer! Making both would be a bit tricky since the wedding is up in one of the New England states and we have to go up Friday since one of my boys is a ring bearer.
- Brent
P.S. For the record... Bec_No_Va is a nice girl and all but she is not my wife...at least not outside of the fantasy Dave's Garden world ;-)
YOWZA!
Ahhhh, Becky...Brent called you a nice "girl." I'd tip him for that!! Somehow I missed the wedding too!!! ROTFL
It will be interesting to see where this wife thing goes with this group. This is a group of very quick witted people and can the simplest, most innocent thing and run with it. You guys really make my day sometimes. ha-ha
Have a good Sunday everyone.

I think they should run a bed and breakfast..........
Or a duet? The Best of Becky and Brent? LOL
Oh my - what has been going on here?? LOL - I am now running two businesses? No wonder I am busy ALL the time AND I have a new hubby?
And thank you for calling me a nice girl Brent - that was very sweet of you! :)

LOL - y'all are killing me here - MY hubby (the REAL one ) is sitting in my office reading and asking why in the world I am snickering away at my desk (ahem, in other words - NOT working) and typing at the same time - not even gonna try to explain this one!
Edited to add -

Family life, deck life and my primary obsessions - taking pictures and plants! :-)
I think there are 20 or so albums for anyone that has a "little" time to kill.....

I can hear the theme song now..."Babe, I've got you babe..." by Becky and Brent
LOL - goofball!
Been cleaning all day...that's the best i can do....LOL!!! Even put the cactus ALL out in their new home...whew!!!
Oh my - you actually got the rack assembled and outside! Wuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
LOL...I guess I asked for it! ;-)
- Brent
Ya think?? LOL
Good job - yes, mighty OT - I am not refusing responsibility - I was minding my own business, ('scuse the pun) then I come here and find I have another business and a new hubby! LOL
I have the exact one Chantell... What is in there??? Wont it be to hot to use that in the summer???
Well have to take my bath we just got in a little while ago from golfing....
Susan
Susan - my deck faces north...so they'll only get sun the first part of the day and the last part...plus i put it all the way against the house for now till they acclimate to the sun. As for "what's" in there?...C & S'...mostly cacti though. I'll leave the "door" open unless it's raining.
Oh ok I have all of mine under the deck... and on the wall under the deck ..... Thanks ... Neat idea ..
Susan
PS they have them available for $0.97 shipping right now :) wally world that is :-)
Chantell: I think it was I who brought the sweet woodruff. I'd be pleased to bring some more -- do remind me. I don't have a ton, because I'm trying to spread it through my yard. . . .
Bec: What is the name for that clear plastic cover?
I'd call it "a clear transparent plastic covering with a roll up door" - it comes with the rack and is fitted to the exact size with Zippers - easy to assemble if hubby ain't around :-)
happy - no worries if you don't have it...please don't pull stuff you need!!!
Just an FYI when Wally world isn't running a shipping special...they now have the site to store feature. Have it sent to your store (supposedly takes longer...note: it did not when i used it) & there's no s/h....yipeee....I love a deal!!! Esp. when Wally World is literally 3 min's from my house. LOL
