I's happened to me before, and i'm sure others.... but is there a way an option for deleting images or even an entire post be added?
there are times when an incorrect image is added to a post, and there is no way for us to correct that.
I know that we can totally edit out info, even to edit all the content of a post, though it leaves behind edited by....
but if there was an image, that is still left behind... and sometimes it's more convenient to just delete it in it's entirety.
just curious,
Terese
Deleting Option
If you use the "PREVIEW" first ,
YOU should never submit the wrong image in the first place .
Or is that to simple a solution ?
If you click on the "Contact Us" link and send a message to our helpdesk (with the post and/or thread URL) we'll be happy to assist you any way we can.
You didn't ask, but here are a few things to keep in mind about our ability to edit your posts and pictures (since these questions come up regularly ;o):
Here's what we can do:
1) Edit titles of threads - in case of oopsies.
2) Move a thread to another forum.
3) Delete threads (it's rare, but sometimes necessary - if you spot a spammer creating new threads, drop us a note and we'll delete them in a jiffy.)
4) Close a thread to any other comments, and re-direct readers to a new thread. (That's handy if a thread is becoming very long and hard to load.)
5) "Sticky" a thread at the top of the forum (we try to limit the number of "stickies" in each forum, though.)
6) Edit a post if it's something you can't edit yourself (for example, someone else posts your full name and address and you'd rather it not be publicly displayed.)
7) Delete a post, if there's a good reason to.
Here's what we can't do:
1) We can't remove the photo from within a post - we can only remove the entire post.
2) We can't remove the initial post in a thread and leave the rest of the thread (if you need us to remove the first post, we will have to remove the whole thread.)
3) We can't move a post from one thread to another, or merge two threads together. (We can close off one thread, and create a link to steer readers to the other thread, but that's about as much as we can do.)
Thanks Terry.
Ginger, I used the preview first....image did not show ...asuming it was the one I had clicked on ..I went ahead and sent...only after checking the thread did I find that the wrong image had posted...it can happen!
Yes brical1
Puters can so often play havock on ones plans . ( from lots of experience )
I have one file with over 4000 Pictures in it .
So I use a special file I move my ( ready to send pics ) to .
I called it NEW .
That way when I am searching for the Pic I am sending ,
There are only a few Pics in there .
When I have posted it I move it right back where it came from .
Do you have XP ?
I am a very visual kind of gal. I add a lot of photos to my posts. Something I find handy to do whenever I am posting a series of photos is to have another window open on my computer that has the photos in it so I can see them bigger than just the little thumbnails, for example, using Windows Explorer with the FILMSTRIP option. I have to go between windows to do this, but it sure keeps me from posting the wrong image. Most of the time, anyway!
I mainly do this because I don't rename my photos as they come from my camera in certain files. My photos are DSC0001, etc. This keeps them in date order for me on my computer and makes it easy to find them when I know about the date range it was taken.
The thumbnails aren't "equivalent" to the entire photo anymore. Not that I'm complaining about that because I understand why they aren't. I use the preview some of the time, but most of the time, I just go back to the thread, once I've posted it, and check my full size image there to make sure I posted it right.
