CLOSED: SECRET TRADE = My box arrived

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

Dutchlady I am happy that your box arrived safely ...sigh :-)...figured it had to be today.

You will be fine with what I sent you.Daylilies are EASY to grow and will get really big in FL.The peonie is also basically carefree but don't plant too deep otherwise it will not bloom. They are extremely longlived !

The 2 bulbs each wrapped individually are indeed Caladiums ,thought I wrote that on the bag I put them in ? probably forgot.Sorry if I did.
Kathy is right , they came from Florida to begin with and will do great in your state.
The shamrock is a houseplant around here ,I just added that for Good Luck !

Thanks for clarifying. I'll go hunt for a piece of shade to put those caladiums in tomorrow. The daylilies will be a treat!
I had peonies in England but they were VERY finicky!

Iris - Silverado,8-9 rhizomes.I had that on my list for ages :-)

I am so gald you are pleased Brigette! I didn't check the crepe myrtle to see if it is hardy there, I am sorry..lol I wasn't thinking. It is a very hardy small tree here, and I love the color! I am glad you love the Iris, the Crimson King has been in my family for almost a century now so it is very special to me, and the Silverado is the first Named one I purchased...The sweet autumn clematis can get going and get really big, but it is so sweet (the fragrance) in August when it is blooming! I don't know the name of the hosta, but it is one of mine the deer have not eaten completely to the ground and I love the darker green outline of the leaves! I hope it is one you can use.

I am off to get a massage, much needed I might add! Have a wonderful day everyone! Thanks again, Kathy for a great ST!

Here is the Crepe Myrtle in bloom...

here is a picture of my corner of grasses I promised June2007. These plants are three years old, next spring I will divide them, they are getting pretty large, June I would plant them a little further apart than what I did or what the instructions say that I sent. Notice the caster bean in the back it got huge.

Shirley/ MrsSpeedsgarden,

Thank you so much for sending such a wonderful box of plants! Everything made it across the country as well as if you'd mailed it from Seattle.
I can tell that Shirley took some time and really looked into what I like and am adding to my garden. I'm very touched by her thoughtful choice of beautiful plants. I didn't have a single one of the plants she sent, and each one will fit in perfectly with something I've ordered here or already have in my garden.
Shirley sent:
Louisiana Iris "Voodoo Music"
Pink Rain lilies (a secret wish I had, don't know HOW she knew....)
Bearded Iris: Princess Bride, Yosemite Star, and Classic Look -Wow, all are so beautiful!
Astilbe "Rock N Roll"-I think this will be perfect in a spot that I've been struggling to find the right thing for.
Daylily "Vintage Bordeaux" -LOVE the color!
Hosta "Thumbelina"-I have the perfect spot for her!

Thank you for making my trade so wonderful, and Thanks to Kathy for all her hard work making this happen for everyone!

Sue

well folks, CaptMitch is alive! Another member alerted me this a.m. that she posted to the trading thread at 11:00 a.m. yesterday. However, has not acknowledged receipt of her secret box (sorry for the person who sent her one) and has not sent my box. She has not responded to my dmails, my requests on the threads, etc.

I dmailed her moments ago and await a response! But the good news is she is okay.

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

rebecca,
I've had multiple members dmail me with the same issue you described. Postage sent but.....we all have things happen in our personal life that throws things off. But it's nice to keep in touch, ONE post about being late was send the 26 or so of June - it's July 14 now. Just knowing she's okay and things are getting closer to being sent out would be a nice thing to do.

Good luck and I'm so glad to hear from many of you that you did enjoy the secret trade and really liked the fun of it being 'secret'.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Kathy it was fun and I too liked the fact that it was a secret trade. I would like to do it again sometime myself. Thank you
