This is the beautiful 'Rosario'. I bought 10 , I think and they are just beginning now.
June 21 Lilium Blooms
Yummy Mags! How big does Starburst get for you? Mine is about 18 to 24 inches tall and blue flax works with it quite well.. :) Between lilies, peonies, and hostas I'm going to be so broke this fall..... ah well, such are the trials of life. :)

2 1/2 to 3 feet, I'd say, in full sun. Sure does look nice with those blues & it was completely unplanned. As I say, I plant what I like and hope it works out. I envy those more organized folks.
Organized? What is this word "Organized?" I agree with you, I plant what I like and hope it works out. :)

Beautiful MGH, keep them coming! :)
Sigh...... so many lovelies! I have a bumper batch of pics from today but I'm just too pooped to post. May not get to it tomorrow either, busy getting ready for DH's 50th B-day bash.
Here's a teaser.... for the occasion, so far DH has smoked 4 pork butts, 3 briskets and tomorrow he's doing wings and ribs. Mmm, mmmmm!
Rosy Dawn
I need to find room for an Ember in my "burning bed". Sure like it and also Starburst. Tell your hubby Happy Birthday Moby. That Rosy is a beauty.
Hey Moby, what time does the party start? and how many Barbies did you have to grind up for that dust? :) LOL Tell Dave "Happy Birthday from Dan and me!"
Oh, and to make this legal, do post your picture once you're rested. :)

Very nice, Arlene! :)
Cool ~ I want one! :)
Arlene, that Naomi has a nice shape to it. :)

I think these are 'Royal Sunset'. In person they sure look like the ones Moby posted a while back. Lots of blooms and reproduces a lot.
Is 'Royal Sunset' an Asiatic or an L.A. hybrid? The Lily Nook site says it's an LA /Division VIII and Plantfiles says Asiatic / Division I.

Moby,
I went through Jefferson Iowa and stopped at their anual celebration; I have never seen a rain gauge like this before.
It was $20. You maybe could make one . . copper pipe to stick in the ground, a piece of rebar to hold it really good in the ground. Hardware store probably has the spigot; fitting to attach the spigot to the copper pipe . . little holder soldered on top . . . the rain gauge itself was a cheap purchased one with a plastic holder ( throw out the plastic & keep the glass vial) The little plastic crystal drop from a bead shop? drill hole in edge of spigot and get some kind of hooks to hold the drop on.
The silk ivy they put on it will probably fade but it was an effective marketing tool.
If you don't want to make one and can wait, I can go back next June and see if they show up selling them.
Diann,
If I hadn't put in some new lilies last Fall I wouldn't have anything to look at. The daylilies are slooowly starting to bloom. There is nothing here to look at except the lilies. This bed used to be all pink LA lily Mrs Dani Arifan blooming like gangbusters first. And then the other LA liles limping along. Naomi sure sparked up this bed.
