It is the time to start planning our 2nd. annual Fall San Fran. Bay area Roundup again. As last year we will be doing a combined get together , including people from another site also.
The date for the roundup have been set for October 13th. from 12- 5 p.m. however if you would like to get there a little early, but no earlier than 11 a.m. that would be fine. Lunch will be served around 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.
This is the location and phone number for the home of Choke Huckuntod, who will be hosting the roundup.

Nor. Calif San Fran. Bay area roundup
Either day would work for me as of now, but a lot can come up between now and October!
I hope we will see you there Ecrane, I would love to finally get to meet you in person.
I would love to attend a round-up! Where are you thinking of having it? I've never been to one.
Oh, Laura....if you go I'll have to see if I can make it up there! Especially if it's in October...my very favorite month and I can get away then when the weather cools off and not be afraid to leave a zillion potted things needing water. Please let me know if you decide you can make it.
Sherry
:-)!
October would be much better for dividing plants, too.
The exact location hasn't been decided yet, but it would be in the Moraga area.
Haven't a clue where that is, will check mapquest. TY
It's a little east of Oakland.
TY, In a congested city-type place?
No, it's a suburban area.
I would very much like to make it.
The tribe has a nursery here and I could bring many baby trees - Port Orford Cedar, Colorado Blue Spruce, Incense Cedar, juniper.... Only 75 cents each as of last week for tubes. I bought about 20 and planted them in a baby tree bed for now. In the fall I'll plant them around the property line. I could bring whatever anyone wanted, perhaps.
I just planted a Redbud and a Smoke tree from them that were in gallon pots.
Hi All, can you give me some more info about your Roundup (nothing to do with broad-spectrum weedkillers I expect?). I'm intrigued, and would love to meet fellow gardeners
I would love to come to the RU also. I will keep watching for more info.
I also have never been to a roundup but would love to come to one. I was going to go to the one in Stockton but schedule conflicts prevented me from going. I don't know what plants I would have but would really like to meet everyone.
Linda
I've never been to one either and would love to meet some of you. Please keep my posted on particulars. Do I assume one needs to bring something - seeds, divided plants - anything?
Most people will probably bring things, but if you've had a tough year in the garden and don't have anything to bring don't let that stop you from coming!
Hi all, I just got back from a two week fishing trip to Alaska, and just now checked my e-mail for the first time since getting home. As soon as I get more information I will post it.
Patricia
jerodsmom, you have mail
For those of you who've never been, a Roundup is where DG people meet to have a potluck and a plant swap. We then know each other personally and there have been quite a few fast friendships made through these functions. I've been to a few, and have enjoyed myself immensely.
Pat - either day is good for me right now. When do you think you'll decide which date it will be?
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn, I need to contact Choke Hunkontod since he hosted it last year and decide if we will be having it at his home or at a park close to his home. I will get an e-mail off to him today, and we will try to start pinning it down. Last year we had it at his home because as we started getting closer to time for the Roundup we found that we didn't have very many confirmed to attend. It worked out great, I just need to find out if that is what he wants to do again this year.
Patricia
Oh, good! It'll be nice to see them again.
I'm back on Dave's and would be happy to host again.
I'm interested.....I'm not sure what I would have to bring to share plant-wise, though. I have seeds of my verbena bonarensis, and I do have some gorgeous canna "Wyoming" that is threatening to get out of control in my little meadow garden..... Would anyone be interested in those?
How do these things work?
It would be fun to meet some of my "virtual buddies" in person!
Yes, I would! My first canna is making a bloom!
So when we get closer, do we start talking about wants, haves and needs? I would be happy to get seedling trees from the tribal nursery, if folks want them. Plus, I'd start stuff special....or should I just do that and hope others want them?
Is there a motel 6 nearby? I always travel with two four-leggeds.
I so hope I can find a sitter for the rest of them so I can get down there!
We have decided on Oct. 13th. as the date for the Roundup and it looks like Choke will be hosting it again. I know most of us had a rough winter this year and are trying to root things for the roundup, so why don't we wait until it get's closer like maybe Sept.1st. to start listing what we will have. I know I still have brugs. I want to get rooted in time for the roundup and will be starting them next week. At that time we can also start talking about supplies and foods to be supplied.
4Paws:
Moraga does not have any Hotels or Motels, it's a small town, where St. Mary's College is located. The closest towns to check for lodging would be Lafayette or Walnut Creek.
So it will be in Moraga?
Motel 6 is 5, 8, 9, 14,16, 1718 miles away...lots of choices. :-) Not that small of a town (here the nearest Motel 6 is 65 miles...the nearest motel is limited, but here)
Perhaps share a room with a non-smoking dog lover?
I'm probably too enthusiastic. I made reservations at the Walnut Creek Motel 6 with two double beds, non-smoking for the 12th and 13th. It's at least a 7 hour drive to get there.
Can always cancel it, but might as well be optimistic. :-)
Hope you can make it. It would be great to finally meet you!
I'm not positive yet if I'll be around that weekend, there's a conference that I may have to go to either the week before or the week after and I'm not sure if that'll steal all/part of my weekend, but I'm definitely hoping to make it.
If I am around and there's anyone coming in from out of town who needs a place to stay, I have a guest room with a full size bed and also a full size futon in my family room. I can't accomodate kids or pets though, my dog is sometimes a bit picky about which dogs he's going to get along with, and he's older and a bit shy and has never really been around kids. Plus my house is not at all child or dog-proofed.
So, it's on Oct. 13 for sure? Just put it on my calendar. I assume address and time will follow?
Waiting to meet you all.
Yes, the address and time will follow: Choke will decide whether to host it has his house or at a nearby park as we get closer and see how many people will actually be able to come on that date.

I'm marking the date in my diary now. I would love to attend.
ALRIGHT! :-) This is going to me my social event of the decade!
Don't know how, but just posted to the wrong thread...sorry...:-)
