Oh no, they are his toys, taken with my camera, but that's not my counter with food on it. lol I think this must have been Easter so just a few drops of food on that counter isn't bad.
Can you remember the first few movies you saw as a child?
What a neat thread. The first movie I remember was way way backand it was going to the drive-in. Don't even remember if our town had regular theaters back then, but always had lots fo different drive-in's. First one I remember seeign the 50foot woman.
Know it gave me nightmares and when I was younger then and starte d a giant growth spurt I wondere d if I was gonan turn out like that. Sure do mis s those days and movies.
In the olden days, bed bugs was a problem not only in homes but also in theatre seats. They had coir cushion seats - foam had not yet been introduced. It was heaven to those little blood suckers. We boys wearing shorts used to scratch our thighs by intermission time. We'd have already donated blood to them by then! It also used to ride with people into their homes to infest there too. It was a problem. When seats were renovated in most theatres gradually with the passing of time and availablility of good cushions and upholstery, this was solved.
When I was a pre-teen, maybe 10 or so, we used to think that the ushers carried flash lights to catch kids holding hands or (gasp) kissing! I guess we thought that you'd get thrown out for that. This was in the early 60's.
Fantasia....Tammy......Pollyanna......Carousel....The King and I...Westside Story......Calamity Jane.....Oklahoma.....and a scary one called Homicidal....where you were allowed to run out of the theatre in 60 seconds at intermission because we all knew the maniac was about to hack off an old dear's head when her wheelchair arrived at the bottom of the steps......in those days I was too young to understand how the mad woman (murderer) was really a bloke! .....yes and in the early teens Hatari ....TheTen Commandments......Peppermint Twist (we got thrown out for twisting in the aisles :)....Don't knock the Rock....oh no more I am getting all too nostalgic.......but ending with one that made me jump out of my seat and still to this day is still one of the greatest thrillers ...done by the master himself...PHSYCO!... well perhaps 2 followed by The Birds.....enough.....;^O
AAh, Hatari, you rung a bell. I remember it to be about some chases of animals and one scene sprung up. A Rhino running and a jeep was following it... Very vague memory though. It was another hit in the 60s I reckon.
Lets see...
A Man called Horse (white man being taught as an indian warrior)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (scarrrry!!!)
The Innocents (ghost story based on Henry James Turn of the Screw)
The Univited (more ghosts)
and the Bette Davis movie where her twin sister drowns and she takes over her life....
These are the ones that really stick out in my memory for some reason. My mom would make me stay up late to watch scary movies with her, that is why some are those types
Younger age retains impressions for long, don't they? Horror movies are always out for us. Comedy comes first. I have just loved Laurel and Hardy movies. Charlie Chaplin. My all-time favourites. I never get tired watching them. I do not remember at what age I must have seen them first.
