I promise I will not disappear for so long a time as I have done recently. I apologize for not keeping in touch.
If someone had told me years ago "Someday your computer will sit idol for weeks at a time" I would have laughed. My life is so full and there never seems to be enough hours in a day. Plants of all kinds, my newborn garden art business, My 4 kitties, a Paro-let, 2 bunnies and a new love in my life who wants nothing more than to build me shade houses and see all my dreams come true. Cool! I am so blessed and I am happy! It's enough to make a girl all giddy and mushy brained ... hee!

This is my third year of evaluations for Rosamond x Dr. D.. It's a dream as far as being a strong and healthy grower. Has nice big leaves, flowers frequently and abundantly, bugs are not as attracted to it as they are to some other brugs (probably because it is a naturally healthy plant). Wilts in the heat, but like most wilters recovers nicely in the evening. Can handle drought fairly well but will suffer major bud drop. Flowers are not always pretty. Most times they are deformed no matter if it is hot or cool ... dadburn it ):
I'm really looking forward to everyones evaluations. It will be fun and educational for all of us.
Feel free to post your pictures here at DG anytime.
Jim Boone lol! Do you still want a replacement for the cutting you lost? :)
Thank you David for helping Joan in the other thread.
Thank you Joan and others who have sent updates thru dmail and email.
I will go through my dmails as soon as possible. Please be patient :)

Veee , you ol skeeter ☺♥♥♥
Hi you two. I must have missed this one before.
Do tell more about your newborn garden art business! I am so glad to "hear" the joy in your email.. I am happy for you.. grinning big :-)
thats all wonderful news.. congratulations..
Hi Scoot and Brugie ! :) :) :) Hope the 2 of you are happy and healthy :)
Hi Ms ZZ! I'm glad you hear the joy in my message. I can't keep it inside without popping!
My newborn business is and will always be for locals only. It includes hypertufa creations of all kinds and Crape myrtles of every color, tropical plants such as a gazillion different philodendrons and its relatives ... many of them grow to be monster sized vines. Also includes copper leafs, succulents and cactus and some other odds and ends tropicals such as Plumeria and Anthurium and more . A few brugs of my personal hybrids (only if they meet my expections (fat chance!)
We also have 2 ponds that we will be stocking in about a month with Koi and raise babies to sell. And for rare tropical waterlilies and for hardy waterlilies too. We will be planting more today.
My vision is lush and tropical. I want it to be like the backwoods of a carribean island. Palm frond thatched roofs on all the structures and beautiful chickens under foot (we've got 7 cluckers so far :)..
So much to do and so much to look forward to! Ellis would have loved this so much.
I have some pictures of Rosamond x Dr. D to post asap. It's hard to stay focused on brugs. :) Gotta get back to work.

Sounds wonderful Vee.
After I get settled in my new place in TN maybe you can suggest some beautious plants that I could never grow here in WI .
Realtor is bringing some (qualified) prospects to look at this farm tomorrow at 9 A.M.
( fingers crossed )
Now you get busy ....... lol.
Hey what ever happened to your baby 'coonies ?
TTYL,
~ ~ ~ ☺♥ S
Sounds like you are having a ball. The ponds would be a lot of fun. I'm growing some Crepe Myrtles now and really enjoy them. They are so easy to hold over in the garage and will be blooming next month if not before.
I had two more blooms and they were defromed but it is hot now so I will wait untill cooler weather to see how she does.
Joan
Vee,
My trial cutting that you sent to me is now two standards on the cutting and is very dark green and healthy but has not y'd yet. It is over 4 feet tall. I'll post pictures here when it blooms.
Thanks for including me in the trial,
Louise
Hey Vicki,
I am so glad to hear that things are going so well for you and that you are enjoying life so much now. Everything sounds so wonderful!!!
The cutting that you sent me was large enough for me to get two cuttings out of it. They rooted very well and grew just fine under the lights during the winter. Just had to battle the spider mites while it was in the house. I was late getting it out and potted up this spring, but it is growing just fine and no signs of pest problems. I do hope to get to see blooms before the growing season ends. Will keep you updated of it's progress.
(((Hugs)))
Hey girl, glad to see you posting. Yes I would like a cutting. LOL
Glad you are happy and things are looking up. Don't stay away so long.
Sounds divine! I dream of a thatch covered hut as my only dwelling.. Wish you all the best in your venture..
Vicki,
I counted at least 8 buds on the trial brug that I am growing. One of them is trying to open. The plant is a good 6' tall with 2 standards and some lower foilage. Both the standards have y'd. If I had restricted it to only one standard, I think the flush would have happened a lot earlier. I'm anxious to see if this one has the reported 'deformed' blooms. I hope not. I'll post a picture tomorrow.
Louise
Nothing on my plant...I am hoping our weather holdsout long enough for something to happen..Im thinking though next eyar might be the year to see the blooms...keep this post going until next year and lets see some pictures...Judy
Here is the top shot to show the buds. One is well cracked open and another is peeking out. The longest one is 9" from where it attaches to
the branch to the tip.
Louise
I tried to edit and there was no link to put the picture. Look in the next post.

Anyone heard from Vickie lately?
I haven't heard from her. I posted my results in the trial here, hoping she or Frank would see them quicker when either of them get back on line.
I would like to know if either of them will want cuttings from this one. This is my first experience of growing a trial brug for someone.
I'll keep posting the progress of the flush as it opens. Maybe one of them will see it.
Louise
hmmmm Pink polka dots with a purple picot edging ? ?
LOL sorry , my bad.
You must be so excited to see this open.
My brugs are ending their last flushes if that is what you can call it after this drought year.
Hey , It can only get better ☺
Keep us posted
TFS
What a fantastic shot! There is no doubt that this one is gonna color! Congrats! Do post when she opens!
OMG, I've never had a brug to begin a color before it unfolds and is in the green/white phase. The buds are longer than any others that I have. They will, no doubt, be very tall blooms.
I'll post each day ( and maybe, twice !) as things happen.
Louise
Mine isnt going to bloom this year..I was just out checking on it and the earwigs are attacking it...I so wanted to see it bloom this year....keep the pictures coming since I will be very excited next year to see blooms...Judy
Awesome!!! Congrats!
Lily_love,
Thanks -
I know Vickie and Frank are interested in the outcome of this and several other trials of this one so they can decide whether to register it or not.
Louise
Yes, as beautiful as it's. It deserves a name of its own. I'll be in line, watching it makes hystory. :-)
I like them when they're in the pinwheel stage. That's fun!
Wow, I love that bright orange color.
