Some slowdowns this morning

I did some maintenance on our backup database server this morning, and during the process the site was incredibly slow and even unavailable from moment to moment. That maintenance is now finished and the site should be performing better than it has since we switched to this backup server.

I still have some small items to do on it, but nothing as substantial as what I did earlier this morning.

The plan is to have the new database server installed within the next 2 weeks.

Yep, that must be why it said page not found on me earlier. I thought as much. Glad to know it is all under control.

That's ok, I thought that it was me so I did some personal maintenance that I've needed to do for awhile. Nothing like a threat to my most favoritest web site to motivate me. lol

Did you do some more last night? I tried several times to download a picture for over an hour.
;)

No, I wasn't doing anything at all with the servers after about noon yesterday...

Not terribly fast loading this morning.

We're running on only 3 cylinders while the master database server is down. The good news is that yesterday we ordered our new server. The bad news is that until it's installed, the site will be slower than usual.

FYI, Dave: DG was down for a while last night too. I came here to see what was going on and was surprised to see that you didn't know of any trouble last night.

I was probably sound asleep while it was happening. It'll happen again, likely several times, during the time until we get a new database server installed.

As long as you're aware of it - that's what counts. :>)

Possibly the results of success. So many logging in at one time can't take it all. Will be patient. Just as long as I know I'm not loosing DG. Now that would be intolerable.
