classified ads

. I wouldn't mind having a little info box popup when we log on to one of the forums. This is what I mean--- If I go to my favorite forum 'Daylilys" I would like to have a popup note from Daves not the vendor saying : There are 4 vendors with daylilies for sale in the classified ads. Dave makes a little money and we get a heads up that dayliles are in the classifieds. Just my two cents. I think the popups would generate more traffic to the classifieds. Traffic is what it's all about when you are trying to sell something. I would love to buy from other dgers and the classified are a good place to sell without being a vendor.

Dave I am right that we can advertise things for sale there without changing our status to vendor. Most of the time I don't remember to check the classifieds when I need some thing and I would rather buy it from one of my fellow dgers. That is why I think a small reminder on the forum page would generate traffic to the classifieds. Something on the same order as in Plant Files. " there are four vendors that have this item for sale" No need to name the vendor Just state " There are four ads with dayliles for sale in the classifieds.

Yes, but would it slow down the website? I and many others are on slow and slower dialup. I wouldn't like to see the site slow down for anything. It is a good idea.

If you really want to keep an eye on the classifieds, why not just check it every day?

I don't understand why you want a pop up to remind you of something you know is there anyway, and with the click it would take to close the pop up, you could instead be clicking the tab for the classified section?


Sorry, but I detest pop ups, they are extremely annoying. I certainly don't want them here, but if you decide to go this route Dave, PLEASE make it an option enabled feature.

Actually, it wouldn't have to be a true pop-up message. I agree, those are annoying! But it could just be a message that appears at the top of the forum that alerts you to the ad that is related to the forum you're visiting.

A message at the top of the appropriate forum would be fine, but I despise popups, even if they're relevant to my interests. However, I have the Classified Ads as one of my "watched" forums on my homepage, so if there's a new post there, it's easy enough for me to see it. I don't think I have nearly as many watched forums as some do, though, so it might be easier for me to notice it.

zeo was right I didn't me a popup like annoying adds I meant a small message on the appropriate forum.
