New logo

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm sure that you've noticed the wonderful new logo that Dave's Garden now has. I want to thank the many members who came up with wonderful ideas and took the time to send them to me. Thanks for your hard work.

The logo that you see is actually a hybrid of one sent in my mom24cats and one by SMPear1- Huge thanks to both of you!!!

It was nearly immpossible to choose just one. The criteria was a logo that was small, simple, and able to be used by DG for merchandise (t-shirts, business cards, ect). I hope that you all like the final product.

Thanks to our creative members, Dave's Garden already seems a little more friendly!

Hi Trish,

"Tomorrow" finally came and the "Anticpation" is over!

Noticed it as soon as I opened, Trish. Looks real good.

Frankly, I wasn't big on the idea of a new logo. But you've forced me to change my mind. This one is perfect: got that classic look that contributes to identity without being overpowering.

Ya dun good, kiddo.

I love the logo! I want a t-shirt and a mouse pad. :)

I LOVE IT! I am in the t-shirt line...where does it start..err..end? heehee! Lisa

Very nice!

It would have been nice to entwine a vine through a new DavesGarden font ...something a little bolder but simple. Then again, it was nice of those who took the time to send something in.

I **love** it. It's beautiful !~

I'm glad that most of you like the new logo. Brook, I'm glad that I was able to change your mind :)
My goal all along was to find something that was very simple, yet charming.

One of the reasons for that was so I could possibly make shirts one day. It's not cost effective to have some made, but I'm hoping to get one of those sewing machines one day to make them.

Trish, I love it! There's a company nearby that I've bought megabucks "marketing" t-shirts from - they are really not as expensive as you may think.

If you want to get a quote, let me know. They do work for people nationally and are well known Christian folks.

I want one!!!!!!!
Blessings,

P.S.

Need email address on t-shirts, tastefully done of course!

Trish,

Don't understand what you mean by not cost effective to have some made.

With more that 600 members, I have no doubt that you would sell any reasonable sized order. One of my clubs just had shirts made, and the minimum order was only 25.

If I were you, I'd design the shirt art (be sure to include the web-site address), then get quotes for T-shirts and sweat shirts both. Figure what the retail would be, and then see how many members would order at that price.

Maybe even have a special pre-printing deal---so much discount if pre-paid before the shirt order is placed.

I bet you'll be in business sooner than you think.

I love the new logo! Really brightens up the page!!! Ü

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I absolutely LOVE IT !!! It's not big and gawdy and the printing of Daves Garden is perfect. It will make a great logo on a T-shirt or sweatshirt. I would love a sweatshirt with it.

Thank you all for helping create a new logo for us to appreciate.

Trish, a great Lookin' Logo!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

Brook- You may be right. I remember the last time that we ordered tshirts for a business...we ordered 500 of them, and had to sell about 250-300 before we broke even. Its been a couple of years, and the company was in Texas. I haven't looked into that sort of thing since then. I'll see what I come up with.....

Thanks for the advice.

Trish-
Good job! I agree with all the comments that it's just perfect....not too big, not too gawdy. Thanks for your work and perseverance to bring it from concept to reality!!!

Thanks for the compliments folks! I'm glad you liked the flower/vine. Personally, I liked another one I'd submitted with an inchworm as the apostrophe in "Dave's"......but it didn't make it. :-(

I was working on a hand sketch like Trish had mentioned that entwined around the font, but due to the unexpected death of my oldest cat and my subsequent grieving, I didn't finish it.

However, Trish I can still do that, using the new logo/font/flowers if you wish. It will just take me some time. (Let me know if you want me to pursue this we we'll talk).

I'm glad everyone liked it -- I think SMSPearl's font is PERFECT! Not too fancy or "girlish" or "too cute" (cough, cough!).......but just perfect! This was lots of fun......thanks for letting us "play", Trish & Dave!!! I just LOVE this site!!!

I was also trying to get some vines around the lettering, but wasn't having any luck making it look right. Folkard is one of my favorite fonts. I found it at the Scriptorium. They have a lot of unusual fonts with a lot of history to them.
mom24cats, I'm sorry to hear about your cat. It's so hard to lose a pet. They become such a big part of the family and your life.
I'd like to see the little inch worm you mentioned. You could post it in the photo forum. I had sketched a little flower and digitally painted it. It didn't get picked either. But I'm very happy the font that I had with it was chosen. I had a lot of fun playing with different ways to create a logo.
Thanks to Dave and Trish for letting us contribute. This site is a labor of love for the two of you and we appreciate it SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Sharon

Sharon,

I loved all your pictures. In fact, choosing the logo was one of the hardest things that Trish and I had to do.

I was heavily leaning toward Sharon's ivy logo (she had ivy in a block, with "Dave's Garden" inside the ivy). We were down to the ivy and the morning glory, and went with the latter. They were a very close tie for a long time, though.

Dave, I think you and Trish made a good choice. And I'm sure the decision wasn't any easy one. Glad I wasn't in your shoes!

The new logo is warm and friendly. I like it. A real team effort! It lookslike most folks agree you've picked a winner.
