WooHoo for you!

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

School is out for us tomorrow!!! Now is time for some serious sleeping in and gardening in the heat of the day:))) It's what I do best!

Ahhh....Sleeping in. I can't remember what that's like...
:)

I had to do my full watering routine again this evening. That 3' that Barry brought only went so far.
Hoping for "late afternoon thundershowers",

Deb

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

we've had those for every day since Barry, except today

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

Joining you tomorrow, Deb. For today...it'll be wiiiide open.

See how I'm avoiding going in, right? Just one more cup of coffee!

Wish me luck/survival:))

We were back to watering here yesterday too, the rain from Barry and a few T-Storms gave relief for a few days. At least we should be getting some summer-like weather with afternoon T-Storms now. Anything to balance out this horrible heat would be nice. 96 today already... and it's just June.

On the plus side... I'm sure the plants love the warmer and more humid nights.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Hmmm...we've had some afternoon clouds roll through a couple of days, and I've heard thunder, but no thundershowers..yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time considering the heat.

Ditto here, Deb. I'm back on my manual watering for all the new stuff we put in this year, plus all the stuff we put in last year. That rain was great while it lasted...I actually poured me an adult beverage and went out on the front porch to sit and enjoy it. And I did! But it obviously wasn't enough... Are those Hyperion starting to show blooms yet??

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Ohhhhhhh, you just reminded me my Hyperions need to be divided. They didn't bloom well last year because they were too crowded. Pitiful, just pitiful plant mom here.

We've had those signs of rain also but it has only been the signs, no wet stuff. Maybe we should just pretend it is raining sit on the porch and enjoy the adult beverages anyway. :-)))))

Hear! Hear! 'Clink'

Jim: Yes, the Hyperion have several "scapes" on each plant. I'm hoping at least one blooms before I leave next Friday for a little holiday. I'd hate to miss them!

Spent 2 hours watering this evening. Then had my adult beverage. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed we get some T-storms tomorrow.

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

Lots and lots of rain today... had some good T-storm activity for a while. We avoided the worst of it here in Lexington, but we still got a nice down poor.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Miraculously, we had a lovely long shower last night, leaving us with 1/2" in total.
Smiling.
Deb

(Dark clouds around this afternoon, but no rain from them yet.)

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

we got lots of rain last night it helped cool things down today. Hey keonikale, i was in L-town this past weekend. you were right it DID change a lot. however it was nice to be bak at home sweet home and see friends after more than a year of separation.

PS we went to newberry to get a fishing boat for my friend... the dam was HORRIBLE. it took us 30 min to cross it

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

Hopefully in another month or so they'll have all 4 lanes open from Lex into Irmo and it'll be a lot better.

For such a small town (Columbia) we sure do have a lot of traffic around here. Of course, after seeing Miami two weeks ago, LOL... well I can't complain too much.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Hopefully it will NEVER be like Miami or LA in size or traffic...

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

If that even happens, I'd be more than shocked.

On the rain note, we received another 3/4 of an inch today. Yesterday a system came down from the upstate, parted right over us and then rejoined south of us. I felt jipped until today. Hopefully we'll see some tomorrow and/or Friday as well.
