When post is deleted???

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I noticed that a post of mine was deleted by administration. Does that automatically mean I did something wrong??? If I did do something wrong, I really would like to know so i don't repeat the same mistake. I love DG and I don't want to loggin some day and find out I have been kicked off ......would administration dmail you and explain what you did wrong before I would get 'kicked off'????

Usually they do write to say why a post was removed, yes. It could go via Dmail or it could come to your registered e-mail address. If the latter, you might want to check your bulk/spam folder to make sure it wasn't misrouted there.

I didn't edit or delete any of your posts and I don't see a record that Terry or anyone else did, either. I think you might have been mistaken?

We don't ban our members willy nilly. I had one guy recently who I issued 6 warnings to before I finally removed his ability to post, and even then I was courteous enough to dmail him and let him know what I did...

My guess is either it didn't quite go through when you clicked send, or you posted it in a different place than you thought you did (some people start the same thread in multiple forums, so it could be you responded in one place and then saw their other thread and got confused--that happens to me sometimes). If you go to "my info", then click on "view the posts you have made", you can look through there and see if maybe you put it somewhere else.

thanks so much everyone and Dave, too!!!
I feel quite sure that I just missed the send button....................I sat in church worrying if I had done something wrong (think most people would call the paranoia!!!!!!)
Isn't it funny that when you finally find a gardening site that you dearly love, you don't even want to break the rules!!!!

The rules here are pretty simple so to get kicked out you would pretty much have to make a conscious effort to break them. Mostly it is common sense.

Keep it clean
Keep it friendly
Keep it non judgmental.

Since the two most controversial subjects known to mankind are off limits (religion and politics) it makes the rules easy to abide by.

Dave and the other administrators have been great about keeping things in line here using a warning if needed and banning only when all else has failed.

I don't discuss religion and politics with my best friends..............let alone in public (LOL)

DG is without a doubt the most excellent site, the only one I would and have subscribed to. The people are both friendly & knowledgeable. If I have a question about growing anything, I would not hesitate posting that question here. Yes I may be "green" or not a very experienced gardener but never has anyone made me feel "foolish" about a question asked. The admin of this site has always been outstanding. Even when in disagreement w/others on the site, the banter has been cordial & appreciated.

I admit it...I like to debate religion and politics. But only with people who debate rather than argue and fight. But that is something I have plenty of opportunity to engage in on many levels at sites that are dedicated to such issues on world issues and in letters to the editor for local matters. Here at DG I enjoy the more laid back serenity and friendly atmosphere.

And as Dave mentioned above, he's more than patient with people who violate the rules and gives them a chance to change their behavior before they get booted from the site. Anybody can slip up accidentally once and maybe get a warning, but to get banned you'd have to continue to blatantly ignore the rules and the warnings, anybody who gets kicked out of here certainly had plenty of warnings but for whatever reason chose to disregard them.
