Member Feedback Twice?

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

Here's something interesting I just found. On each member's "My Info" page are two sections titled "Your Actions" and "Actions."

Under "Your Actions" there's an item titled "View the feedback you've given other members."

Under "Actions" there's an item titled "View the member feedback [member name] has written of others."

Both of these items relate to the same thing and take me to the same place - any feedback I've given to other members. Is there a reason why they're listed twice? Seems odd to me.

No answer yet from anyone in Admin? No correction? Help, please.

Well, they shouldn't take you to the same place.

The first one.

Quoting:
Leave feedback for JoanJ or read feedback left by other members.
is to view the feedback others have left for me.

The second one
Quoting:
View the member feedback JoanJ has written of others.
is to view the feedback I've left for others.

Does this make sense? Take a look again and see.

Opps, I see you are referring to other peoples home pages.

The first one is feedback others have left for that member.

The second one is feedback that member has written of others.

You're looking at something different. What I said was,

Quoting:
Under "Your Actions" there's an item titled "View the feedback you've given other members."

Under "Actions" there's an item titled "View the member feedback [member name] has written of others."

Both of these take you to the SAME place, and I think there should be only one item, not two.

I think what faeden is referring to only happens on your own 'my info' page.
I just figured it was a technical thing that was more trouble to remove than it's worth. Maybe they were added at different times as part of other programming that made it hard to remove? I don't know, but it doesn't hurt anything having two buttons for the same thing.

Ah, okay. Now I see where you are looking.

This is a question for Dave or Terry.

Yeah, I know, claypa. It's just that I have a little OCD and it's things like this that make me nuts unless I understand the reasoning behind it. LOL!! I had hoped that others had noticed this and wondered about it too.

Hopefully Dave/Terry will chime in soon. If they don't I'll use the "Contact Us" option and direct them to this thread.

The "Actions" box is what is publicly visible to anyone else viewing your page.

The "Your Actions" area is visible only to you when you're on your own page.

Having both is somewhat redundant, but in the balance, it also lets you see exactly what someone else can see about you, without logging out and then accessing your own member page. I do sometimes check out things within the "public" view to see what it looks like to everyone else ;o)

Thanks, Terry. It's not "somewhat" redundant, it's completely redundant. However, if the powers that be want it this way, who am I to question it? :>) At least now I understand the thinking that led to it.
