Paypal

Gulfport, MS

Tell me your experience with Paypal--good or bad. I'm nervous about it and yet it seems it would be better than sending out credit card information to tom, dick, and harry.
Thanks for your input.

I have been a member to paypal for about 7-8 yrs and i have never had a problem with it...very easy to transfer money to and from.

I am quite happy with it.

I agree, it's better than sending your cc# all over the place. I love paypal, wish everyone accepted it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I've used it several times with great success!!!!

Salt Lake City, UT(Zone 6a)

Nothing bad to say about them here either - they do a great job

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

We've been using it for years, too, and have never had a problem with it. :-)

thanks to all of you--my mind is now at ease!!!

I have had no problems with Paypal. However, I would advise new users to visit the Paypal website and read up on how to spot pfishing or spoof emails when you open your account.

I agree with Nem...but I've used Paypal for years and love em! Wouldn't eBay without them.

Often, if there are two companies with the same item I want and one of them takes paypal, even at a little higher price, I'll go with them. And I won't even consider an ebay item if they don't accept it. I think I write four checks a month and those annoy me.

I went on an ebay spending spree this past weekend. Got two ice cream nanners, an erythrina and some sugar cane!

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

I love paypal. Last December I ordered an item from someone and payed through paypal. I never received my item so I went through paypal's dispute resolution process. Within a month I had a full refund. I was very glad that I had payed with paypal. I wish everyone took it.

I use it and have never had a problem. Just remember to NEVER respond to any "funny" emails you get requesting you to update your info. I get these all the time from both PayPal & eBay and they are scams!

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

I opened a PayPal account last year for my pay-forward project and watched it very closely. All I can say is they provide clear and accurate statements and I was so happy with their service that I kept the account after completing my project and use it for my small business now.

Yes, I do recommend them.

I signed up about 4 years ago and have used Paypal to both send and receive payments dozens of times since then. I never have had any problems and will continue to use their service. It's easy and faster than entering all that cc stuff on individual websites and such. Like already mentioned, be on the lookout for those scams....check out the security center on Paypal.

Are you a potential buyer or a seller? The concerns are different for each.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

I've been with Paypal since it's inception and love it.

My advice is as mentioned above. Do not rely on emails
regarding your account, no matter how realistic they look.

Always log into your account by going to the website, not
through a link. Not through an email.

Go to Paypal and then log into your account. IF there is a problem,
it will be flagged. You can always call Paypal directly, as well to
ask.

Never believe the emails. 'Lost your password' my butt.

Great program.

Wow--glad I found this thread! I, too, have been nervous about opening a Pay Pal account. Thanks to all those who posted! And yes, I've gotten scam emails about my Pay Pal account number, even though I've never had one. Creepy people are out there.

If you are buying it is highly advisable to use a credit card as the source of your payment. Otherwise you can get burned if the item is not good or the seller goes under or empties his account.

I recommend using one specific credit card for all on-line transactions. That way if the card if compromised you as least know where its been. Use other cards for "swipe" transactions.

Howie and I have been using PayPal about as long as we've been members at eBay. We've never had a problem with it. We have our PayPal account linked to an account we keep just for Internet transactions. The debit card associated with that account we use at sites which don't take PayPal. This way, if account info is every compromised, the thieves will only have access to an account which typically has a $5 balance, if that. We transfer funds into it right when we're making a purchase, and that's it.

Ingenious!!!

Well with all the Bank buy-outs and etc over the past few years I ended up with an account that's located way across town. So when I heard that Paypal could possibly debit my account for a refund on Ebay I decided to use that account soley for Palpay and Ebay. That way I won't be devistated if such a glitch happens.
