Survey for DG

Our sales team at NameMedia (who handles all the advertising that you may see on the site here) is conducting a survey of DG members. The answers will help them put together a media kit to send to gardening companies in an effort to get more of them to advertise with us directly.

If you're feeling up to it, please visit the survey here:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=887443871322

It's entirely optional, and anonymous (not even I see your answers, and your username is not recorded over there). Also, don't feel obligated to take the survey, but know that if you do you'll be helping our sales team continue to get good advertisers for DG.

Thanks!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

stupid question.. But what does annual income have to do with Davesgarden.com? Seriously.... I get the gardening questions, the $ spent on gardening, even age range & gender... but where does my income factor in? I answered honestly, I just think it's a strange question to be asking ...

It seems quite intuitive to me, but... Advertisers often ask the question of "what is the income range of your visitors" when considered where they will spend their advertising dollars.

Starkville, MS

They use the age range and income range for averages to target with appropriate ads for those ranges.

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

done!!! an very painless ;o)

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

As a paying subscriber, I chose to turn off advertisements.. so intuitive or not, I didn't think about paying advertisers when I asked my question.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Done! The only painful question was the age range! LOL Thank goodness I am 6 years away from the next step. hahahahahaha

Sorry AngelSong, I had tried to be clear in my original post to this thread. I'll try to be more clear next time.

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

And I'm sorry I asked the question. Next time I'll just avoid the surveys.

AngleSong - don't quit on us - I know the frustration you are going through. I've asked questions before and gotten *lots* of answers that may or may not have adressed the issue I asked about. But the main thing is I *have* learned to filter through all the posts and, usually, I find a middle ground that works. You are in an "in between" age group that often gets left out - but don't give up. There are still some of us who will give you support and, hopefully, keep you satisfied with your dollars spent. Your input is valued and without you we tend to lose track of your group. Please help us stay on track!

Happy gardening!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Done - used to work for a company that puts these type of surveys together. Best thing about them is that they keep most of the advertising to items that you might be interested in rather than trying to sell ice to eskimos.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

I did it yesterday. If there are questions you don't want to answer like the income you can leave it empty.

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Survey was simple and to the point. Like it or don't like it, participate or don't participate. The important thing is that we have freedom of choice (so far) and everyone is a contributer to DG in their own way and equally valuable to the community as a whole.

Done a couple days ago too. Easy and hopefully helpful to DG and Namemedia.

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Did the survey---whew!!!---in 42 more days I would've had to choose a new/higher age bracket...

Happy Gardening,
