Welcome!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Now that's a sweet story-a bit more romantic than the drive thru Vegas wedding...don't make me cry now!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Tropicanna - cough - giggle - yes that's the Pohnpei that so many people visit. lol lol.....you sure had me going on that one!

Kell - I don't skinny dip any more - I chunky dunk.

John, what a great story!!!! Bet that becomes part of islandlore - ya know what I mean. Yes, DD got her modem yesterday, so I'm sure she will be checking in while I am gone.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

lol Shari .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

lol both of you-Kell, missed the skinny dipping comment

...chunky dunk....never in my life....lol

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

'swhy I don't go out with the spearfishermen.....always afraid I'd hear "THAR SHE BLOWS" and they'd be talking bout ME!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Sounds like what I do with my bread-roll into the soup ???
And the thread digresses .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Well, Kell, you have your rum forum wherever you are, that's for sure. It is truly a gift!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Maybe its a good thing that we are all so scattered - globally - not mentally. Can you see all of us at one of those round-up thingys, or a cofffee clatch? They'd be calling the paddy wagon for sure!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Gosh Shari! Sounds like a blast to me!lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Now wouldn't that be a great RU .
I bags holding the first one here in Good old OZ .
Who can make it ???

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

I gotta wait to see how much I spend on Pohnpei.....but then! Watch out Oz, here come the tropigals!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Sounds like a plan .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Kell, we need some of your high-end artwork to sell for fundraising! I would so be there....looking out for snakes and Australian penguins!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Penquins????????????? What am I missing here???????

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

ginger actually had penguins under his porch. At first that's what I thought they were, but then thought penguins in Australia was ridiculous. Until he finally got a picture and they were penguins.

Weird, huh. There's also an African penguin if you can beleive it.

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Wow! That is just too cool! I wonder if they have an accent? Oh, sorry...sometimes I just get tooooo silly. You say "his" Ginger - Kell, guy or gal? Inquiring minds want to know! I may need to change tropigals to tropifolks? Should anyway - John's bride may not like me calling him a gal. Ha Ha. But we are a mindset anyway - not bound by traditional values, no he/she, no green/yellow, no buddist/quaker....just plant lovers in paradise!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

ginger is a well, I'll let ginger tell...snicker,snicker...

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Thank you Tropicanna ,

Islandshari ,
Just go to my profile and you will see a current Pic. of me .
Contary to what Pep says , I am not a cross dresser .
Her turn will come . Heeeeeeeeeeeeee ! can't wait .

Yes We sure are " just plant lovers in paradise! "

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Well, nice to meet ya! I take it you are the one with the chin decorations? Showin my ignorance here, but what's a Ducati? I grew up around motorcycles; my dad and both brothers ride and one even built his own hog. Due to them, I'm afraid " if it ain't a Harley, it ain't a bike " was my way of thinking for most of my life. Guess I should post a pic of me, huh?

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Shari, if it ain't a Harley, I ain't interested. LOL.

Ginger, you are what you are, whatever that is. I think that would be a.......CROSS DRESSER!!! ROTFL!!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Okay - when I get back I want an explanation. This sounds like a conversation I would enjoy. And if ya don't want people asking about it, then don't talk about it.....so give!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Here's the explaination. Because of his username people automatically assume he is a GAL. The way he types sometimes also helps that along. But for those of you who don't know he is a GUY. I have picked on him a few times and basically called him a cross-dresser. LOL.

That's pretty much the basics. lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

And this Pic. just adds to the confusion .

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Lurk...gurggle...wanted to give ya all a chance to settle into your hard earned home... But now inquiring minds want to know.... which one of those stunning creatures is ginger749 ? ;~}

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

The Good looking ONE of cause .

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Gotcha. the first one on the right it is!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

LOL Zanymuse .
The one with the Red Beard / Moustache .

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, now that you mention it the red beard does make him the lovlier of the bunch. :~)

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Why thank you Zany .
It's the VIKING in me .
The rest of them are really DUMB .
They don't say a great deal . ( funny that )

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL! They can't say much because you don't let them.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

We all look a little stuffed don't you think ?

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Hahahaha.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Silly me, I should have realized there was only one MAN-nequin in the group. Plus all the others look a bit hard headed and cold. By comparison you look to be the only warm blooded tropical in the bunch.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Thank you Zanymuse .
You make me sound like a bananas . ( a bunch )
So you did notice .

Viera, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi from central Florida, I grow alot of gingers and other cold hardy tropicals. Grew up in South Florida and still love the flora of down south.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Hi birdlady_liz , and welcome .
Just love your Pic .
Are they Ginger Flowers ?

Viera, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank you, looks like you guys have a lot of fun on this forum :)
The picture is of a group of my very favorite ginger Costus barbatus, I just love it! The red part is the inflorescence and the blooms are the yellow tubluar guys poking out from the brcts of the inflorescence. Hummingbirds like them as much as I do, and the undersides of the leaves feel like bunny ears! The blooms are edible, I've eaten quite a few, just plck them off and pop themin my mouth, yummy :) Below is a picture of a close up next to my hand so that you can see how big the inflorescence can get.
I have an AOL photo album with about 700 pictures, if anyone would like to see it just email me your regular email address and I will end it to you.
I have 2 reg email addresses:
Leneobrien@aol.com
Liz@gingerlandtropicals.com
The album will be sent from my AOL addy.
