Imagine being a male bluebird hatched from a pink egg?? Can you imagine the teasing?
Storm's over and time for Coffee!!!
WWell, I don't imagine it would be haphazard, maybe all male bluebirds would come from pink eggs and all male cardinals from purple eggs. BTW, how do you think Mrs. Cardinal feels having her husband fly all over town like that?
xx, Carrie
Well, amongst birds, it is more usual for the male to sport flamboyant colouring, rather than the female. I doubt a male bird (blue or otherwise) would be teased for a pink egg.
In Brooklyn??
There are birds in Brooklyn?
I thought that's where Big Bird's from.
Twee.
They live in the tree that grows there.
Big Bird is as flamboyant as you can get. I think he'd be the first to sport a pink egg.
Can I see what's in your glasses???
By the way - Thompson and Morgan are having a half price sale on all their seed if anyone is interested... http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/us/en/index
Oooo, drool, drool.
Who's glasses Anita? Mine's a Vodka tonic with lemon. Yum!
Pixie, I call Victor "Daddy" too. It's a long story.
Harper, are you calling Big Bird gay? 'Cause I think that's Bert and Ernie.
I like the term "playing for the other team"
No, Big Bird isn't gay. (well, to be honest, I'm not sure). He's just a little 'swishy'. I don't think Bert and Ernie are gay either. Now, Tinky Winky is definitely gay. Bah! Ha ha hahahaha!
Dave, why do you call Victor "Daddy"? I enjoy long stories.
Except for Big Bird, there really have been people concerned the above.
Harper, After I make one up, I'll tell you.
I know, Dave, which I think is just crazy. There are no sexual overtones, homosexual OR heterosexual in Sesame Street or the Teletubbies. Some people have nothing better to do than to make up something to protest.... IMHO
I make up stuff to protest all the time: narrowmindedness, ableism, lack of wheelchair ramps, etc.

Carrie, you're not inventing those things out of thin air. They really exist.
How about - I'm not prejudice, I hate everyone equally...
He he he! I love that!
The interesting thing is the difference between prejudice and discrimination. It is possible to discriminate without being prejudice (your boss doesn't want you to solicit work from "those people" - but you personally do not have prejudicial feelings towards them). And vice versa - you can have a prejudicial attitude towards others but not actively discriminate. Prejudice is the attitude - discriminate is the action.
Good point. I guess that explains why one's a noun and one's a verb.
LOL, Sofonisba! But these days you can be both prejudiced and discriminatory. Nobody seems to care about nouns and verbs anymore. It's the nounification of verbs that has me traumatized, and the co-optization of verbs to beome other things.

Carrie is getting scary!
I thought she's getting funny!
That doesn't rhyme. Also, the grammar hammer.
sorry sir!
Thank you, Sofonisba!
Victor..... BOO! Did I scare you?

In the general sense, the ability to dicriminate is an important part of learning. We couldn't group, categorize, tell plants apart, if we couldn't discriminate. Prejudging (prejudice) is the problem.
Hey Dave. Welcome back. Does 'dicriminate' mean commit two crimes?? Does it mean you die while committing said crime(s)?
dis,dis
dat, dat
dose, dose, and de odder ones too.
xx, C
yer makin' me chuckle
Those beautiful blue eggs above have been replaced with some little purple headed babies. I can't get a close up so I have to settle for thru-the-slats kinda pictures. It wasn't easy getting this and I hope you can make the little guy out! Got down on my hands and knee's, placed the camerea on "night landscape" and pointed it in between the slats the best I could. Here's the results.......
Well, we get the idea :-) How is DH?
Not the prettiest picture.LOL
There has been a duck on eggs under a bleeding heart I have at my neighbors. I don't know how long they take - it's over 3 weeks now.
Not bad, thanks for asking. There's a picture of him on daily musings. I understand you and he share a B-day. Happy belated Birthday!! Sorry I wasn't here to be on time.
Al, we crossed posted....no it's not pretty.....in fact they are so ugly they're cute.
I think they're very cute!
