Ch 1, Ron the drug dealer

Orange Park, FL

About 15 years ago a relatively young couple moved in next door. He was a master mechanic at a local Cadillac dealership, earning more dollars than he could spend. He stood about 5' 5" tall and was married to an absolutely stunning lady. She stood about 6' tall, and was every bit a beauty. No fat, big boned, perhaps, but an eye-catcher.
About 3 years after they moved in it came to our attention, the wife and me, that they were getting a divorce. Within a year, the divorce was final, and Ron, the drug dealer, was in sole possession of the house. We never heard from his ex after that.
A few months went by and I noticed that Ron's "nite-lite" post out near the sidewalk had a red light in it. I quized the wife and asked her if our neighborhood was turning into a red light district. She had no clue, but my teenage son clarified things.
My sixteen year old told me in no uncertain terms that Ron was a big-time drug dealer, and that the red light out front was just a simple effort to focus his buyers to the right address.
The wife and I got just a wee, wee bit annoyed with this revelation. And the wife, being the "macho man" in this marriage, made a phone call to the County cops.
The next day the County sent a detective out to our house to interview both of us. We handed over license plate numbers and times they were there, and descriptions of suspects, ad naseum.
Nothing happened until 3 months later. And then the local news rag published an account of a detective (the one we spoke to) being arrested for drug dealing. It would appear that Ron, the drug dealer, had paid off and informed the detective.
But it gets better. Stayed tuned for better schnizz. Ch. 2 is just as ugly.
